Border Guard stations sign cooperation agreement for 2025

On March 20, at Van Gia Port Border Guard Station and Tra Co Border Guard Station, the Quang Ninh Border Guard Command held a conference to review the coordination work on border protection in the area adjacent to the land border and the area adjacent to the sea border in 2024 and sign the coordination work in 2025.

In 2024, implementing the plan to coordinate the protection of adjacent borders, the Quang Ninh Provincial Border Guard Command has directed functional departments to regularly disseminate and direct island border posts to develop plans to protect adjacent borders; organize dissemination for officers and soldiers in the unit to strictly maintain the work of briefing and exchanging situations; coordinate patrols, coordinate the management and protection of borders; sea areas, mobilize people to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, agreements and regulations on border and sea protection.

When an incident occurred, the units promptly informed each other and, at the same time, coordinated with agencies, departments, branches and forces to resolve related incidents, contributing to firmly protecting territorial sovereignty and maintaining security and order in border and island areas.

As a result, in 2024, the Border Guard stations exchanged 175 pieces of information related to the situation of border incidents, including 55 pieces of illegal entry and exit, 65 pieces of smuggling, and 25 pieces of public denunciation of crimes committed by people causing insecurity and disorder.

Coastal and island border posts have exchanged information 250 times and met directly 60 times on activities and policies of the opposite side related to sovereignty, violations of fisheries exploitation, maritime safety, sand exploitation, dredging of waterways, competition for water surface for aquaculture, shipwrecks and drowning accidents.

The units have organized propaganda for fishermen in a total of 55 times/1,150 ships, boats/5,670 people, distributed 1,500 national flags, 1,500 photos of Uncle Ho to fishermen, 3,500 leaflets and propaganda documents against IUU fishing. The units coordinated to organize patrols, chase away 2 cases/4 Chinese fishing vessels violating sovereignty, illegally exploiting seafood. Prosecuted criminal cases and handed over 13 cases/27 subjects of illegal entry and exit, transporting goods and drugs across the border; coordinated to arrest and administratively sanction 208 cases/232 violating vehicles, with a total administrative fine of 3.95 billion VND.

The units also coordinated well in search and rescue, fire prevention and forest fire prevention with 82 incidents, 470 officers and soldiers participated. Coordinated propaganda with 35/175 officers and soldiers participating/2,300 vehicles, guiding fishermen to take shelter from storms, especially storm No. 3 (YAGI).

During the patrol and control process, the units have well implemented the contents specified in the plan, demonstrating solidarity, mutual support in performing tasks, promptly detecting, arresting, and strictly handling cases of law violations. When incidents occurred on the border, sea, islands, and adjacent areas, they promptly deployed vehicles and mobile forces to support when requested.

The units have also done a good job in border diplomacy combined with people's diplomacy, contributing to strengthening cooperation and friendship with border protection forces of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China, building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative, stable and sustainably developed border.

Promoting the achieved results, in 2025, the units will continue to direct and thoroughly implement the plan to each officer and soldier in the entire unit; proactively grasp the situation, promptly advise superiors to effectively handle situations occurring on the border. The units will continue to proactively coordinate with local authorities and forces stationed in the area to organize propaganda, education, dissemination of knowledge, guidance on prevention and response to natural disasters for officers, soldiers and people, mobilize forces and means for rescue, prevention and mitigation of natural disasters - search and rescue, fires and explosions, and prevent violations in border areas, seas and islands.
