Recently, thousands of fans flocked to Da Lat to see Ha Nhi perform "I See You." Her live vocals showcased a blend of vocal technique and emotion. Transcending the image of a "singer who only knows how to sing sad ballads," she opened up to the audience, soaring through diverse and passionate musical experiments. "I've come a long way from my previous self. After the show, I returned to the recording studio, practiced, and prepared for new projects," the singer expressed.
Hà Nhi's transformation and breakthrough were clearly evident in 2022, when she released several meticulously produced and serious musical works; and continuously appeared on stages and in tea rooms. Her appearance on the game show The Masked Singer was also a turning point, making her a phenomenon in Vietnamese music that year. As a result, she was nominated in the Breakthrough Singer category at the 2022 Green Wave Awards. Her tears on stage at the Hoa Binh Theater in Ho Chi Minh City at the awards ceremony last January were enough to show how emotional she was when her efforts were recognized.
Born in 1994, Ha Nhi loves singing despite having no one in her family involved in the arts. She first appeared on Vietnam Idol 2015, reaching the top 4. In 2019, she returned to the Perfect Mystery competition, winning first place and deciding to pursue a professional music career. When she first started, she released songs and performed, but audiences weren't very interested. Even when she applied to perform in tea rooms, she was rejected because she wasn't yet famous. Despite this disappointment, she never gave up. Later, thanks to some popular cover songs, Ha Nhi gained attention. She diligently performed in tea rooms and events in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi , Da Lat, and other locations. She decided to invest in her own music so that audiences would no longer remember her just as a cover phenomenon or a tea room singer. The current Ha Nhi has established her own unique style, handling song techniques with greater sophistication, especially in vibrato and sustained notes.
Ha Nhi has been well-received by audiences because listeners now increasingly appreciate live singing and live performances. Her success is considered relatively late compared to her peers, but she is not impatient; instead, she strives to live her passion for singing every day, making gradual efforts to establish herself.
