Singer Bao Tram Idol stumbles many times after 'one step to heaven'

Possessing a clear, seductive voice, Bao Tram was loved by many people after the Vietnam Idol 2012 contest. She quickly made an impression with the hit song Only memories remain . A few years later, Bao Tram decided to get married and have a small, happy family.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Bao Tram said that after 12 years of pursuing singing, she feels she has matured and also encountered many failures.

Ask Bao Tram: Over the past 12 years, it seems like you're still struggling with your musical path? The female singer replied: "For many singers who have struggled in the Vietnamese music market without a place, being in the Top 3 of Vietnam Idol, and at the same time debuting with great success half a year later, Tram's luck must be considered 'a step to heaven'. But I think it's a series of falls, falling into the love net of music without any way to escape.

On the positive side, there are also worries that cannot be shared with anyone. A lucky little bird is brought to the top of a mountain but now is full of fear about taking off to the next mountain. What kind of music, where to find songs, how to make sure this step is as successful as the previous steps. Bao Tram believes that there is no formula for an artist's success. Some people bloom early and fade quickly. Some people consider scandals an indispensable part of their lives. Some people cultivate themselves until they bloom and shine brightly for the world to admire.

"When I became a mother, I lived a full and virtuous life. I always considered myself a greedy person, who would not let go of anything important in life, but would simultaneously hold on and give priority at decisive moments. 10 years of getting married, having children and singing were 10 years of me receiving people's questions: Do you regret having children and getting married early? When will you return to music?... Many nights while I lay down to rock my baby to sleep, I gave answers but in the end I realized I was not enough, what could I give?" - Bao Tram confided.

Recently, the female singer has appeared more often, covering songs, which is the result of years of loving herself and being nurtured by the love of her husband, 2 little angels and the audience.

"12 years ago, what did I have to attract audiences to my sold-out shows other than my innocent voice and my immature, confused soul? Now, I have the voice of someone who, after many struggles, still chooses to be carefree, with a strong inner self and a heart still full of emotions," Bao Tram confided.

She said, her current life can be summarized by two words: "lucky" and "sober".

Bao Tram was lucky to be born into a non-artistic family, so she learned and absorbed non-professional thinking and skills from a young age. Her parents always paid attention to cultivating her ethics and investing in her education.

Sober is when you make the first decisions in life: Grade 12, change from block D to block A, pass the entrance exam to the National Economics University for both blocks, complete a bachelor's degree after competing in Vietnam Idol, become a singer and get married; in 2018, study vocal music at Hanoi College of Art and in 2024, study vocal music at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.
