According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on the night of July 30 and July 31, the Gulf of Tonkin, the eastern sea area of the North East Sea, the central and southern East Sea (including the Truong Sa sea area), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have showers and heavy thunderstorms; in thunderstorms there is a possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
On the night of July 31 and August 1, the sea area from Binh Dinh to Ca Mau, the central and southern East Sea (including Truong Sa sea area) will have strong southwest winds of level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7-8, rough seas, waves 2-4m high.
Warning level of natural disaster risk due to strong winds at sea: level 2. All ships and other activities in the above sea areas are at high risk of being affected by strong winds and big waves.
From the evening of July 30 to August 1, the Central Highlands and the South will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with rainfall of 50-100mm, some places over 170mm.
From the evening of July 30 to July 31, the Northern, North Central, Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan regions will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, some places over 70mm (rain concentrated in the evening and at night).
Thunderstorms in the North are likely to last until August 3 (thunderstorms mainly in the late afternoon and evening); in the Central Highlands and the South, they are likely to last for many days to come.
