Ca Mau builds and repairs 240 houses for the poor and policy families

There are 240 temporary and dilapidated houses that have just started construction and repair for policy households, poor households, and near-poor households in Ngoc Hien district ( Ca Mau ).


On December 16, according to information from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of this province coordinated with the Steering Committee for Eliminating Temporary and Dilapidated Houses in Ngoc Hien district to organize a groundbreaking ceremony to build and repair 240 temporary and dilapidated houses.

Previously, delegates from Ca Mau province started a program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the regrouping to the North.

These are houses for policy households, poor households, and near-poor households in Ngoc Hien district, part of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ca Mau province.

Specifically, of the 240 houses mentioned above, 202 were newly built, each receiving support of 60 million VND, with a cost of more than 12.1 billion VND; 38 houses were repaired, each receiving support of 30 million VND, with a cost of more than 1.1 billion VND. The total support cost this time was more than 13.2 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, asked relatives of the families to contribute labor and money to build more spacious houses.

At the same time, he suggested that local authorities pay attention to effectively implementing the program, strengthening inspection and supervision to build and repair quality houses.

According to data on the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, Ca Mau province built 3,463 new houses and repaired 937 houses. For households with meritorious services to the revolution, 578 new houses were built and 579 houses were repaired.

Poor households built 1,206 new houses and repaired 116 houses. Near-poor households built 1,324 new houses and repaired 242 houses. Households under the national target program for socio -economic development of ethnic minority areas in the province had 355 houses.

Support rate for new construction is 60 million VND/house, repair is 30 million VND/house. Total capital for implementation is 235.89 billion VND.

According to the plan, Ca Mau province expects to complete the target ahead of schedule, aiming to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province by 2025.
