Ca Mau: Prosecuting Director of Viet Phat Company to investigate tax evasion

On October 9, the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau Province announced that it had just prosecuted Dang Phuong Nam (28 years old, residing in Khanh An Commune, U Minh District, Ca Mau Province, Director of Viet Phat Construction Service Trading Company Limited, abbreviated as Viet Phat Company) to investigate the act of "Tax evasion".

Deputy Director of Viet Phat Company, Mr. Dang Quoc Viet (54 years old, father of defendant Nam) was also prosecuted and temporarily detained for the same act as Nam.

According to the Investigation Police Agency of Ca Mau Province, from 2020-2022, defendant Viet operated Viet Phat Company, purchased 74 VAT invoices without accompanying goods from Ms. NTBV (52 years old, residing in Long Tuyen Ward, Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City) for more than 41 billion VND to sell the invoices and declare and report taxes to Viet Phat Company. Nam was the person who directly signed the contracts and acceptance minutes.

The investigation agency also determined that Viet Phat Company sold 13 VAT invoices, without accompanying goods, to 2 units for a total amount of 11.7 billion VND. Nam was also the representative of Viet Phat Company who signed the above 13 invoices.
