However, since 2000, farmers have begun to switch to growing yellow apricot trees and have found that yellow apricot trees adapt well to harsh natural conditions, bringing in a more stable income.

The yellow apricot tree not only has good weather resistance but also has high economic value, maintained and gradually increased with the age of the yellow apricot tree.

Thanks to support from local authorities, the area of ​​yellow apricot cultivation is increasingly expanding, becoming the main crop of Binh Loi commune.

Binh Loi apricot village began to develop strongly from 2003-2004, by 2014 there were about 130 hectares of apricot trees. By 2024, the total apricot growing area in this area has reached 560 hectares with hundreds of households specializing in yellow apricot trees.

The yellow apricot products of Binh Loi craft village are not only consumed domestically but also have export potential. In addition, Binh Chanh district is focusing on building the yellow apricot brand and combining it with tourism activities.

"Binh Chanh District has a project to develop eco-tourism, forming tourist destinations associated with yellow apricot products. From there, many new directions of development for yellow apricot trees in particular and agricultural production activities in general in the locality will be opened up," said Mr. Nguyen Pham Minh Giang, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Loi Commune, Binh Chanh District (HCMC).

The development of the yellow apricot growing village associated with tourism promises to bring many economic benefits to the locality. In particular, every Tet holiday, the yellow apricot village is full of colorful flowers, attracting tourists to come and have fun, take photos, creating a cultural and tourist highlight for Ho Chi Minh City.
