Implementing the direction of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, on the same evening, localities in the whole province quickly organized meetings to solicit public opinions.

Meeting to seek public opinion at residential group 9, Song Cau ward, Bac Kan city.

Districts and cities have urgently directed communes, wards and towns to organize meetings to collect opinions on the two draft projects according to the province's plan. In many villages and residential groups, the implementation atmosphere was very serious and urgent but still ensured all steps according to regulations.

In Bac Kan city, early in the evening of April 17, people from many villages and residential groups quickly gathered at the cultural house to give their opinions on the draft projects. In group 8, Song Cau ward, the meeting with the participation of representatives of 150 households took place seriously, urgently and with a high sense of responsibility. After listening to the summary of the contents, people voted unanimously for the project to merge Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen provinces with a rate of 100%; 98.66% agreed with the draft project to merge commune-level administrative units in Bac Kan province in 2025.

Mr. Nong Viet Vy, Chairman of Duc Xuan Ward People's Committee, said: On the evening of April 17, under the direction of the Ward People's Committee, residential groups 1A, 1B, 13 held a meeting with the participation of members of the Ward Steering Committee and the Support Group. The Ward will complete the meeting to solicit public opinions on April 18.

In Bach Thong district, according to records, many communes held meetings in the afternoon and evening of April 17 to keep up with progress. Mr. Dinh Ngoc Phan, Head of Doan Ket village, Quang Thuan commune said: “We have just received the guidance document to immediately hold a village meeting. Although the meeting was held suddenly in the evening, the people were quite present. The whole village has 75 households, only 4 households were absent because they were working far away and were not present in the locality. The people were clearly informed of the content of the two draft projects and the right to participate in giving opinions. The meeting took place in a democratic and serious atmosphere, 100% of the people voted in agreement with the two draft projects”.

People of Doan Ket village, Quang Thuan commune, Bach Thong district highly agree with the draft Project to merge administrative units at commune and provincial levels.

Not only in Bach Thong, Bac Kan city, but also in other districts in the province, many people's meetings were held on the evening of April 17 to ensure the completion of the commune-level consultation before April 20 as required by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee. Leaders of many communes directly went to villages and residential groups to direct, monitor, and at the same time answer questions and legitimate aspirations of the people.

According to feedback from the grassroots, most people expressed their agreement and high support for the policy of the Central and the province on the rearrangement of administrative units, especially the plan to merge the two provinces of Bac Kan and Thai Nguyen. Mr. Vu Viet Hung, Group 5, Song Cau Ward, Bac Kan City, assessed: Merging administrative units will open up many opportunities in terms of state management and socio-economic development; increase management efficiency and help streamline the administrative apparatus; help promote the efficiency of resources, create development momentum; improve the quality of public service provision... so we are in agreement.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Toan, a resident of Duc Xuan ward, shared: “We see that the merger will open up many development opportunities for the province, reduce the number of focal points, and streamline the apparatus. The important thing is that the government is paying attention to the people's wishes as it is now, which is very good.”

In a time-sensitive situation, the drastic participation of local authorities and the high sense of responsibility and consensus of the people are making important contributions to helping Bac Kan province complete the synthesis of opinions on schedule, serving the completion of the Central Report Project on time.
