Stop Food Waste Campaign
The Stop Food Waste campaign aims to reduce food waste in the community, contribute to environmental protection and support food security, raise awareness of food waste, and encourage action from individuals, businesses and organizations to join hands.
The local Food Bank Network has mobilized the participation of all families, businesses, restaurants - supermarkets - food distribution and trading units, and many organizations to join hands in taking action through simple actions: smart shopping, proper food preservation, and creativity in utilizing leftover food, recycling organic food waste to protect the environment. Activities at the Vietnam Food Bank Network have been launched and implemented to reduce food waste and protect the environment: Collecting usable food at gardens and wholesale markets; Recovering food at coffee and cake chains, etc. to give to homeless people, the disadvantaged, and the beneficiary network of the Vietnam Food Bank. Other products such as tea grounds, coffee grounds, organic waste, the Vietnam Food Bank Network will transfer to the Community Food Gardens of the Vietnam Food Bank (Nong Lam Food Bank Garden, Green Community), to recycle into animal feed, compost, grow vegetables, trees, etc. The Food Bank Network will donate usable products to shelters, charity houses, and partner units that have accompanied the activities, etc., forming a closed circle with the goal and mission of reducing food waste in the community. The Stop Wasting Food campaign is not only a practical action to reduce waste, but also an important step in building a sustainable future for the community.
Introducing the Food Donation Recommendation Guide in Vietnam
In this campaign, Harvard Law School’s Food Law and Policy Clinic (FLPC) and its partners also collaborated on a key set of recommendations that can help Vietnam reduce food loss and waste, protect the planet, and feed millions of people. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi - Chairman of Vietnam Food Bank. Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi - Chairman of Vietnam Food Bank, shared: “Food waste is not only a problem of one country, but a global challenge. Vietnam is no exception. Every year, millions of tons of food are wasted while there are still many people in need of support. Therefore, this campaign not only aims to reduce waste but also create specific actions, contributing to building a fairer society. Let's start with the simplest things such as planning smart shopping, preserving food properly and sharing with those in need. Every small action has great meaning. We call for everyone's participation. Through this campaign, we hope to create a community with high awareness of food protection, environmental protection, contributing to a more sustainable future. In addition, today we are honored and proud to introduce the Food Donation Recommendations Guide, an important document developed by the Harvard Law and Policy Clinic in collaboration with the Global Foodbanking Network (GFN) and the Vietnam Foodbanking Network, to raise awareness and guide the community in donating food safely, practically and sustainably. With this guide, we hope to create a positive impact and contribute to reducing food waste, while ensuring timely food support and meeting the highest safety and nutritional standards, especially in cases of responding to natural disasters and epidemics.

Over the years, in addition to accompanying Foodbank Vietnam, organizations, and agencies to carry out campaigns against food waste, CP Vietnam has also mobilized and promoted "anti-food waste" for more than 30,000 officers and employees, applying saving and avoiding food waste in all production and business processes or activities and events taking place at the company, so that people can better understand the importance of food and the serious consequences of waste leading to food scarcity and shortage.
