BYD Sealion 6 launched to Vietnamese customers, price from 799 million VND

Unlike most hybrid cars of Japanese car manufacturers such as Toyota and Honda currently distributed in the Vietnamese market, the new Sealion 6 has a length x width x height of 4,775 x 1,890 x 1,670 mm and a wheelbase of 2,765 mm.

BYD equips the Sealion 6 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain, including a 1.5 gasoline engine (96 horsepower, maximum torque of 122 Nm) combined with an electric motor (194 horsepower, torque of 300 Nm). The total combined power is 214 horsepower. The system also has a motor that acts as a generator, not driving the vehicle.

BYD Blade battery pack capacity 18.3 kWh. Operating range in pure EV mode is about 100 km with a fully charged battery. Front-wheel drive. Fuel consumption 3.5-4.7 liters / 100 km on mixed roads, according to the manufacturer's announcement. If the battery SoC level is 70% or higher, the consumption is 1.1 liters / 100 km.

Sealion 6 comes with a 2.2 kW portable charger. AC V2L (Vehicle to Load) power supply function. AC Type 2 (6.6 kW) and DC CCS 2 (18kW) vehicle charging ports. Regenerative braking for the battery. Vehicle warranty policy is 6 years or 150,000 km and battery warranty is 8 years or 160,000 km.

The exterior of Sealion 6 is designed to be modern, youthful, with many cut lines but still has a harmonious overall look, the front headlights are similar to the previously launched pure electric sedan Seal. The horizontal radiator grilles at the front of the car are the difference compared to other pure electric BYD models. LED strip taillights run across the entire body. Panoramic sunroof, one-touch opening/closing trunk. Sealion 6 uses 19-inch rims.

Meanwhile, the interior of the Sealion 6 has a 5-seat configuration. It features a large 15.6-inch entertainment touchscreen and a 12.3-inch screen behind the steering wheel. Supports wireless connectivity to Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 10-speaker Infinity audio system on the high-end version. Dual-zone automatic air conditioning, two wireless chargers. The car is equipped with a smart lock system, supporting unlocking by NFC or via the BYD Apps application.

In addition, Sealion 6 is equipped with ADAS driving assistance technology with many features such as adaptive cruise control ACC, lane departure warning LDW, lane keeping assist, forward collision warning FCW, traffic sign recognition, adaptive headlights, automatic brake assist when reversing.

Other standard safety technologies include ABS/EBD/BA brakes, 360-degree camera, front/rear parking sensors, tire pressure control, hill start assist, cross traffic alert when reversing, blind spot warning, door opening warning, 6 airbags.

The appearance of Sealion 6 with plug-in hybrid technology shows that BYD has been more practical in its approach to the Vietnamese market. Sealion 6 offers two versions, Dynamic and Premium, priced at VND839 and VND936 million respectively. For the first 1,000 customers, the prices are VND799 and VND899 million for each version.
