On August 28, the Binh Dinh Province Sports Training and Competition Center (under the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh Province) confirmed that the Director of this center had signed a decision to discipline Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa, Deputy Head of Sports Training and Coaching Department, Binh Dinh Women's Handball Coach (under the Binh Dinh Province Sports Training and Competition Center).

Accordingly, Mr. Hoa was disciplined by being forced to quit his job from August 26 due to a particularly serious violation in Clause 2, Article 19, Decree No. 112/2020/ND-CP of the Government on disciplinary action against cadres, civil servants and public employees.

As Thanh Nien reported, during the time Mr. Nguyen Thai Hoa was the coach of the Binh Dinh women's handball team, many violations occurred, causing outrage, including the coach and athletes forming groups and organizing fund collection without reporting or asking for permission from superiors.

Specifically, in 2017, the coaching board and athletes of the Binh Dinh women's handball team agreed to sign a confirmation of their agreement to implement the team's resolution. This resolution stipulates that the coaching board and athletes must pay a minimum of VND500,000/month/person.

When athletes compete and win prizes, each athlete's prize money is transferred directly to their personal account. After the season, each athlete evaluates himself, then gives the team feedback, and meets with the coach to agree on the classification: Athletes with rank A receive an additional 30%, Athletes with rank B receive an additional 15%; this amount is deducted from the bonus of Athletes with rank C, who must return 40%, Athletes with rank D must return 50%; the remaining portion is paid into the team's general fund.

All revenue and expenditure of the Binh Dinh women's handball team are fully recorded by the treasurer through the personal account of athlete D.TKY, wife of coach Nguyen Thai Hoa.

From 2022, the fund was negative by more than 166 million VND, and by the end of 2023, it was negative by more than 89 million VND. The largest negative fund amount was the prolonged Covid-19 pandemic, when the Binh Dinh women's handball team had to stay in a centralized facility and spend a lot on athletes infected with Covid-19. Many personal support and hospitality expenses... with large amounts of 5 million VND or more exceeded the fund's revenue and expenditure, leading to a negative fund amount of over 200 million VND in some years, causing an imbalance, leading to a negative fund amount for a long time, causing frustration among athletes...
