On April 10, in response to a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's comment on US President Donald Trump's April 9 announcement to temporarily suspend tariffs on more than 75 countries for 90 days, including Vietnam, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said: "We believe that the US decision to suspend reciprocal tariffs for 90 days on exports from countries to the US, including Vietnam, is a positive step."

Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang said that in the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, Vietnam will negotiate with the United States on a reciprocal trade agreement, on the basis of mutual respect, to achieve satisfactory solutions, towards fair and sustainable trade and meeting the interests of the people and businesses of the two countries.

This reflects the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, and also the spirit of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
