Mr. Nguyen Van Thang, Secretary of Chuong My District Party Committee, said: "Building new rural areas is a long-term and sustainable journey, with no end point. We have been and will continue to focus on leadership and direction to complete the set goals and targets, ensuring that Chuong My develops in the direction of urbanization while still preserving its unique traditional culture."
The strong investment in the new rural development program has contributed to creating a more modern and civilized rural appearance. Infrastructure works such as roads, schools, medical stations, and public lighting systems have been renovated and newly built, contributing to improving living conditions and income for the people.
The new rural development program has brought positive changes to the people of Chuong My. According to statistics, the average income per capita of the population has increased significantly. In 2021, the average income per capita was 65 million VND/year, by 2023 it increased to 74 million VND and is estimated to reach 80 million VND in 2024. This figure shows a clear improvement in the economic conditions of the people, thereby improving the quality of life.
In addition, the program also focuses on reducing the poverty rate. In 2021, the district had 529 poor households, but by 2023, this number had dropped sharply to 99 households and is expected to reach the level of "basically no more poor households" by 2024. Chuong My is aiming to complete the advanced new rural criteria for 18 communes, an increase of 8 communes compared to the original plan.
Sharing about this change, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa, a resident of Phung Chau commune, said: "Thanks to the new rural development program, our lives have changed a lot. The roads are clean and convenient, our children can study in a better environment, and medical conditions have also improved a lot compared to before."
Building modern and sustainable countryside
The new rural development program of Chuong My district does not only stop at improving infrastructure and material life of the people but also aims at developing civilized and modern rural areas. The district aims to develop towards urbanization, preserve and promote traditional cultural values, and at the same time build livable villages.
District Party Secretary Nguyen Van Thang emphasized: "We not only focus on developing infrastructure but also focus on preserving the traditional cultural values of each region and locality. Villages and residential areas are now not only modern and spacious but also retain cultural beauty, creating a livable countryside."

Despite remarkable achievements, the process of building new rural areas in Chuong My also faces many challenges.
One of the main difficulties is resource mobilization, especially in the context of a volatile economy. In addition, maintaining consensus and active participation of the people is also a major challenge, requiring flexibility and creativity in policies and advocacy methods.
Mr. Tran Van Binh, Chairman of Nam Phuong Tien Commune People's Committee, shared: "During the implementation process, we encountered many difficulties in terms of resources. However, thanks to the attention of the district and the efforts of the people, the commune has gradually overcome and gradually completed the criteria for building new rural areas. The support and consensus of the people is a great motivation for us to continue to go further."
The development orientation of Chuong My in the future is to continue economic development associated with the urbanization process, turning the countryside into a livable and civilized place. The district aims to achieve and exceed the plan by 2025, 20/25 targets of the new rural construction program. Advanced new rural communes will continue to be built, with the goal of reaching 18 advanced new rural communes, an increase of 8 communes compared to the original plan.
Thanks to investment and clear orientation, Chuong My district is gradually changing its appearance, not only in terms of infrastructure but also in terms of economy and culture. New rural development programs continue to create momentum for the district to develop more sustainably and modernly, towards a healthy, civilized and livable Chuong My.
Chuong My district has been writing a success story in the process of building new rural areas, with positive results in improving people's lives, developing infrastructure, preserving culture and protecting the environment. The efforts of the district's leaders and the active participation of the people are important factors helping Chuong My achieve these successes. In the coming time, with a long-term and sustainable development orientation, Chuong My district promises to become a bright spot in the process of building new rural areas in the capital Hanoi.
