Deformed belly after spending more than 100 million on liposuction

After spending more than 100 million VND on liposuction at a facility, the young girl went to the hospital with deformed, bumpy abdominal skin.

Doctor Hoang Hong, head of the Department of Plastic Surgery, Hanoi Medical University Hospital, informed that he had just admitted a patient due to complications after liposuction.

The patient is Ms. H. (29 years old, Hanoi). Due to her lack of confidence in her sagging, fatty belly, she listened to an advertisement on social media and spent 110 million VND for liposuction and abdominal shaping at a facility.

However, after 1 week of liposuction surgery, Ms. H's upper abdomen began to harden. The abdominal wall did not have the grooves as originally desired, but had large lumps and shrunken skin.

Ms. H. tried to massage her abdomen to soften it, but it did not improve. About a month later, many large, bumpy lumps appeared in her abdomen.

After that, the young girl did not dare to return to the surgical facility for a re-examination, but went to Hanoi Medical University Hospital for a check-up.

Doctor Hoang Hong, who directly treated Ms. H., shared that through medical history, the patient had undergone abdominal plastic surgery at a facility and encountered complications.

On examination, the patient's abdomen had abdominal wall deformities, skin deformities, and skin color changes.

"After doing tests and MRI, we discovered that Ms. H. had many injuries to her abdomen. There was also a fibroid tumor in her abdomen due to a prolonged infection during a previous surgery," Dr. Hong informed.

After examination, the doctors performed surgery to remove the fibrous masses, restore muscle tension, fat layer and skin of the abdominal wall. After surgery, the patient's abdominal wall returned to normal.

According to Dr. Hong, for patients with abdominal wall deformities after cosmetic surgery, it will cause difficulty in daily activities and there is a risk of infection.

Abdominal wall deformities cause pain, discomfort, affect aesthetics, and create a lack of confidence in the patient.

Dr. Hong said that liposuction, abdominoplasty and post-partum skin removal are legitimate beauty needs of many women. However, women need to choose a reputable medical facility and a qualified doctor to perform the procedure.

"Especially, with advertisements on social networks, women should be very careful. Only choose medical facilities that are licensed to perform surgery, have full equipment, and specialized doctors to avoid complications like the above case," Dr. Hong advised.
