On the evening of December 31, 2023, the final round of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 and the fireworks display to welcome the New Year took place in Da Lat City (Lam Dong). Contestant Bui Thi Xuan Hanh from Ninh Binh City, Ninh Binh Province, excelled over 37 contestants in the final round, winning the highest title at the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest.
Bui Thi Xuan Hanh, born in 2001, graduated from Hanoi National Economics University. Bui Thi Xuan Hanh has a balanced body: 1.71m tall, 3-round measurements 82-60-87. Xuan Hanh made an impression when she won the runner-up title of The Face Vietnam 2023 in July 2023. In the reality TV show The Face Vietnam 2023 , the girl born in 2001 always maintained her form, entering the top 6 of excellent contestants. Before the final, she entered the top 6 "Best in Swimsuit".
In the final night of the Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 contest, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh (registration number 579) was named in the top 16 excellent beauties to enter the bikini performance round; continued to be in the top 10 beauties to enter the evening gown performance round; the top 5 excellent contestants entered the behavioral round and the top 2 to compete in eloquence, presenting future action plans.
In the final round of the final round, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh received the question: "There is an opinion that today's youth often want to break traditional boundaries. What is your opinion on this opinion?"
She made an impression when she confidently answered: "For me, traditional beauty still exists. We are living in a new era, everything is getting better, traditional beauty may be smaller but it still exists. The fact that you are more developed only shows that you are doing newer things, just like the ao dai - the traditional ao dai is always there, and the modernized ao dai is just another name. One thing we always remember is that we are always Vietnamese people with red blood and yellow skin, our solidarity and traditional beauty are always preserved and developed by young people in a good direction. I hope young people always remember that we will always develop but also always remember the traditional beauty of Vietnam".
The top 2 contestants called for the speech competition are Bui Thi Xuan Hanh, candidate 579, and Hoang Thi Nhung, candidate 676. In the speech competition, the two contestants presented their community project plans, then asked each other questions and expressed their views, perspectives and future plans. The selection of the new Miss will be decided by the Jury and a special judge - the audience (accounting for 40% of the score).
In the final round of the final night - "Presentation of a project for the community", Bui Thi Xuan Hanh confided that a year ago, when she first came to Ho Chi Minh City, she was surprised to see so many homeless people there. She told herself that she had to do something to help these people. That was the origin of the idea "New Life" that she had cherished.
Bui Thi Xuan Hanh expressed: "They have no jobs because no one is willing to hire them. I want to play a central role in connecting homeless people with businesses and job organizations. My project consists of three steps. Step 1: confirm the identity of homeless people and call on them to participate. Step 2: screen homeless people who are willing to work. Step 3: provide vocational training and career guidance for them, and connect them with jobs. The project may only bring in a small source of income, but I believe it will motivate them and help them feel like they are a useful part of society."
In the end, the title of Miss Universe Vietnam 2023 belonged to Bui Thi Xuan Hanh. Along with the title of Miss, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh was also awarded the "Fashion Beauty" award at the contest.
With the title of Miss Universe, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh will be the first representative of Vietnam at the international Miss Cosmo contest, held for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024.
During her university years, Bui Thi Xuan Hanh had an "impressive" academic record when she excellently won the second prize in Scientific Research at the National Economics University; she was a student majoring in Chemistry K58 at Luong Van Tuy High School for the Gifted.
