WATCH CLIP:

According to VietNamNet reporters on the afternoon of November 15, at the Nguyen Tat Thanh intersection - Nam Hai Van bypass (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city), there was a thick layer of dust. This is the area where the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project is being constructed.

Dust continuously rises from the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway project area as vehicles move through, blocking the driver's vision. Every day, thousands of tourist cars and large and small trucks passing through here must drive slowly to ensure safety.

Not only causing traffic difficulties in the area, the dust also flies straight into nearby residential areas, forcing residents to close their doors to avoid affecting their health.

According to local residents, the rain that had been going on for several days previously caused the soil in the area where the highway was being constructed to flow onto the road, forming a thick, muddy layer. In the past two days, when the weather was sunny, the mud dried up and created a cloud of dust.

Living near the project, Mr. Tran Van Hoang’s family (residing in Group 1, Hien Phuoc Village, Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District) had to close their doors to prevent dust from entering their house. According to Mr. Hoang, his son-in-law ran to the construction site to ask the construction unit to sprinkle water to reduce dust, but to no avail.

“The thick dust from the project flies straight into our house, but no unit has come to water it to reduce the dust. The dust flies straight into the house and mixes with the drinking water, which is really dangerous. The households in my group now have to keep their doors closed. The project is still under construction for a long time, if the situation is not resolved, we are very worried,” said Mr. Hoang.
