On the morning of April 5, at the National Economics University, Hanoi, the launching ceremony of the NEU League S5 2024 football tournament took place. The NEU League football tournament is organized for full-time university students of the University to compete in the "League" format, taking place at the same time as students study at the University.
The tournament has been held for 4 consecutive seasons and is increasingly improved. Through the tournament, the school hopes that students will be able to practice their physical fitness, have fun, and satisfy their passion; have the opportunity to practice the knowledge and skills learned in school about management and administration of a football team, group, and event. Thereby contributing to training bachelors who are good at their profession, physically strong, passionate, and enthusiastic.
In the fifth season of the tournament, NEU League S5 2024 unexpectedly welcomed the star of the Vietnam National Team and V-League, currently playing for CAHN Club, center-back Bui Hoang Viet Anh. Accordingly, Bui Hoang Viet Anh will participate in the NEU League and play in the guest team at the tournament.
Bui Hoang Viet Anh shared with NEU League: "Viet Anh wishes all participating students good health and happiness. Viet Anh really wants to accompany the entire tournament but conditions only allow him to participate in part. Hopefully, playgrounds like this will help Vietnamese football develop even more in the future."
As a pioneer, the National Economics University (NEU) has been developing school football in a professional and systematic manner, contributing to the development of the Vietnamese student football ecosystem. The school considers sports activities in general and football in particular as an important part of the training process; gradually building and developing school football for students in a professional and systematic manner like the model of universities in Japan and Korea.
NEU League aims at core values such as Professionalism in organization; Responsibility and companionship with students and sponsors; creating a healthy playground for students to satisfy their passion; Promoting the spirit of fair play.
With the goal of long-term development, in 2024, the School signed a cooperation agreement with Tran Phu Electromechanical Joint Stock Company and Tran Phu Electromechanical Joint Stock Company will be the sponsor and accompany the tournament for 6 years from 2024-2029 and the tournament name will officially change to "TRAN PHU NEU League".
Mr. Dang Quoc Chinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tran Phu Electromechanical Joint Stock Company is also a member of the Council of the National Economics University, an alumnus and former lecturer of the University. The support for the tournament is the sentiment of the successful alumni of the University with the desire to spread positive values to generations of students of the University.
With the support of Tran Phu Electromechanical Joint Stock Company for 6 years, the Organizing Committee hopes to successfully organize this season and the following seasons, providing a useful playground and bringing many values to the students of the School.
TRAN PHU NEU League S5 2024 has 16 participating teams with 12 strongest teams from faculties and institutes in the School, with 04 guest teams: Tran Phu Electromechanical Joint Stock Company; SHB Commercial Joint Stock Bank; FPT Play Television (media sponsor for the tournament) and the School's Teachers and Staff Football Club.
NEU League S5 2024 will open at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12 at the artificial turf football field of the National Economics University. The tournament will last for about 6 months with a total of 15 rounds, 120 matches in the 07-a-side format taking place on the artificial turf football field of the National Economics University. The total prize value of TRAN PHU NEU League S5 2024 is up to more than 100 million VND.
