Students are 'eager' for vegetables
Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School No. 1 (Bao Yen District, Lao Cai) welcomed 40 more students from Lang Nu School to study at the main school. The school's boarding meals therefore increased to more than 150 students.
The school is overloaded, students do not have boarding facilities but teachers do not mind the hard work of providing extra meals for the students.
Principal of Phuc Khanh Primary and Secondary School No. 1 Pham Duc Vinh said that to quickly stabilize the students' lives and psychology, the school sent them from Lang Nu to the central school.

Before that, the teachers had cleared some functional rooms to make accommodations for the students. But because the cafeteria was overloaded, the students had to split into two shifts to have enough space for lunch.
The current food source is donated and supported by benefactors. The school held a meeting with parents and agreed to "eat whatever is available".
In the context of focusing on overcoming storms and floods, the most important thing is to have safe accommodation for students. The current food source is supported, but in the long term, the school has asked the authorities of Bao Yen district to consider supplementing the regime for the students.

Need to add boarding system for Lang Nu students
"From Lang Nu village to school is not enough kilometers as prescribed. But because they have to travel on a road that has landslides and is at high risk of landslides, the students are still considered boarding students. We will ask the Department of Education and the District People's Committee to consider supplementing the regime for the students," said Mr. Vinh.
Food sources were scarce after the flood, so teachers had to buy pigs from local people to slaughter for food, and vegetables were provided by volunteer groups.
"Due to the impact of the recent floods and rains, food sources are scarce, especially green vegetables. Even adults crave green vegetables, not to mention students," Mr. Vinh explained.
