Lu Thi Dua is a Mong ethnic girl in Yen Bai province, one of the students from the Northwest mountains who went down to the mountains to “catch the letters” and received the 2023 Relay to School scholarship. When Dua was 4 years old, her father passed away in an accident. A year later, her mother also died from a lightning strike.
In less than two years, Dua became an orphan and was taken to the Yen Bai Province Social Work and Protection Center. Dua went to school with the hope that one day he would return to contribute to the development of tourism in his hometown of Mu Cang Chai.
