Waiting for the day to capture all the most important titles in the region

Previously, Vietnamese football won the 2023 Southeast Asian U.23 Championship. The tournament has not yet determined the time to hold the next tournament, so we are still the defending champions. Recently, the Vietnamese team won the AFF Cup championship, we have ranked first in Southeast Asia at the national team level.

Assuming that the Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) or Thanh Hoa wins the Southeast Asian Club Championship (Shopee Cup) 2024-2025 and the Vietnam U.22 team wins the men's football championship at the 33rd SEA Games in 2025, Vietnamese football will simultaneously hold the 4 most important titles in Southeast Asian football. These 4 titles include the AFF Cup, SEA Games, the U.23 Southeast Asian championship and the regional club championship.

It is worth mentioning that the chances of success for the U.22 Vietnam team and CAHN Club this year are very high. As for CAHN Club, this is the first team to qualify for the semi-finals of the Southeast Asian Club Championship, with a perfect record of winning all 4 of their past matches in the group stage. With their current form and very strong squad, Coach Mano Polking's team is considered the top candidate for this year's title.

Another signal that helps domestic football fans believe in the ability of CAHN Club to succeed in the Southeast Asian Club Championship is that this team is very eager to win the cup. This desire helps the players of Coach Mano Polking always enter the field with a high fighting spirit. In addition to CAHN, Vietnamese football has another representative in the Southeast Asian Club Championship, which is Thanh Hoa. The path to the semi-finals for the Thanh team is somewhat more difficult, but in theory Thanh Hoa still has a chance to continue.

As for the U.22 Vietnam team, the chance of winning the men's football championship at the 33rd SEA Games is not small. Coach Kim Sang-sik's team is one of the teams with the best squad in the tournament. The spirit of young Vietnamese players is also very high, after the success of the country's football at the 2024 AFF Cup.

There will be a special record of Vietnamese football

Several players in the 22-year-old age group such as goalkeeper Tran Trung Kien, midfielder Khuat Van Khang and striker Bui Vi Hao, who were named in the Vietnamese team that won the 2024 AFF Cup, are expected to return to help the U.22 Vietnam team win the 33rd SEA Games.

If Vietnamese football holds all four of the most important regional football titles as mentioned above, we will achieve something that even Thailand has never achieved.

The last time Thailand won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship was in 2005. However, during that period, the AFF Cup championship belonged to the Singapore team (from 2004 to 2007, the AFF Cup belonged to the Lion Island team). That is, Thailand has never held the AFF Cup championship and the U23 Southeast Asian championship at the same time.

On the other hand, Singapore, although having won the AFF Cup 4 times (1998, 2004, 2007 and 2012), has never won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship. The same goes for Malaysia, they have only won the AFF Cup once in 2010, but have never won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship. Indonesia has won the U.23 Southeast Asian Championship once in 2019, but they have never won the AFF Cup.

That means there is no football in Southeast Asia as comprehensive as Vietnamese football. If we win the regional club championships and the 33rd SEA Games this year, after winning the 2024 AFF Cup and the 2023 U.23 Southeast Asian championship, Vietnamese football will set an unprecedented record.
