"The RFEF has been rocked by another corruption scandal in recent weeks and has yet to appoint a new president following the departure of Luis Rubiales. The Spanish government is therefore directly intervening in the organization's activities, which has upset both FIFA and UEFA. These two leading football organizations have warned and may ban all activities of the RFEF, which will affect all teams and clubs, including Real Madrid and Barcelona, who will not be able to participate in all tournaments in the coming time," AS said on April 30.

"The RFEF is under the management of the Supreme Sports Council (CSD) after a series of recent incidents. CSD President Jose Manuel Rodriguez-Uribes has sent a letter to FIFA and UEFA explaining why the government needs to intervene when the RFEF is fighting corruption allegations. However, FIFA and UEFA are not satisfied, saying that this has crossed the line, Spanish football now faces dire consequences," AS emphasized.
"Previously, UEFA and FIFA sent a joint letter, signed by general secretaries Mattias Grafstrom (FIFA) and Theodore Theodoridis (UEFA), to Mr. Rodriguez-Uribes last week, questioning why the CSD Committee had to intervene in the activities of the RFEF and warning that they would not support any form of political interference. UEFA and FIFA set a deadline for the CSD to answer the questions by May 3," AS shared.
"In case the CSD cannot satisfactorily explain the questions from UEFA and FIFA, Spanish football could face serious consequences. Accordingly, the RFEF will be immediately suspended by both UEFA and FIFA, and Spanish football representatives will be expelled from tournaments of both agencies. In particular, top clubs such as Real Madrid and Barcelona will not be able to participate in the Champions League, the Spanish national team will lose the right to participate in EURO 2024. Similarly, at the 2024 Paris Olympics...", AS expressed.

Also according to AS : "The current crisis could also cause Spain to lose the right to host the 2030 World Cup, when FIFA assessed the possibility that the two remaining co-hosts, Portugal and Morocco, have all the capacity to organize.
FIFA has awarded the 2030 World Cup to three countries: Spain, Portugal and Morocco, with the opening three matches taking place in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. But with what is happening, Spanish football is facing a serious crisis. Unless the Spanish government steps back, and finds a suitable solution to stabilize the RFEF's situation."
