Waiting at Binh Phuoc Club
For the first time after many years of drifting in the first division, Binh Phuoc Club has sent out a clear signal of promotion. The representative from the South is strong enough and ready to dream high to the horizon of V-League. In the first division, not many teams possess these two factors at the same time. Besides Binh Phuoc Club, perhaps only Ninh Binh Club and PVF-CAND are truly "bloodthirsty" for promotion.
Thanks to strong investment from businesses, Binh Phuoc Club has brought in a series of new players such as Nguyen Cong Phuong, Le Thanh Binh, Sam Ngoc Duc, Huynh Tan Sinh, and Ho Sy Giap.

With the previous experienced force with goalkeeper Bui Tan Truong guarding the goal, or coach Nguyen Anh Duc who is familiar with Southern football and has coached in the first division, Binh Phuoc Club is a team with the appearance of the first division, but possesses a core close to V-League.
In particular, the appearance of Cong Phuong is an arrow that kills two birds with one stone. First of all, spending no less than 6 billion VND/year on a player not only helps Binh Phuoc team to warm up its name, but also affirms the enterprise's long-term investment commitment for the representative of the South. The brand and appeal of Cong Phuong have helped Binh Phuoc team "sell out tickets", even though the player born in 1995 has not yet played.
But more importantly, Cong Phuong will bring expertise. In the past 2 years, the 29-year-old striker has only played 4 matches for Yokohama FC. However, Phuong has simply failed in the Japanese playground, which is beyond his ability, and no Vietnamese player (except Cong Vinh in J-League 2 before) has left his mark. Cong Phuong's ball sense and physical strength are big challenges due to playing too little, but the former HAGL star is still at the same level when returning to Vietnam.
Cong Phuong has scored 29 goals in the last 64 matches in V-League, achieving an efficiency of 0.45 goals/match. This is a commendable statistic for an attacking midfielder who always has to share the scoring task with foreign players.

According to expert Doan Minh Xuong, Cong Phuong's problem is just his feeling for the game. "Cong Phuong being able to play now is precious, first he needs to regain his form. I hope Cong Phuong continues to explode and succeed with this decision."
In addition to Cong Phuong and a squad of quality players covering all three lines, Binh Phuoc Club also built a football academy and built a solid upper-level structure. Mr. Yusuke Adachi sat in the position of technical director, a role he used to hold at the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Binh Phuoc team clearly followed the path of Japanization with a series of Japanese experts holding important positions.
Of course, not all Japanization is successful. In 2021, Saigon FC also had a chance to work with experts from the land of the rising sun, but then retreated. Long-term strategy and the ability to adapt to new circumstances are sufficient conditions for success.
Southern football has waited a long time for a team that is willing to play and play football from the roots like Binh Phuoc. This season's first division will be worth watching.
flourish
Southern football once dominated the V-League, especially during the period when Long An (2005, 2006) and Binh Duong (2007, 2008, 2014, 2015) took turns dominating.
Or before, Dong Thap, Can Tho, Kien Giang were also promoted and showed the unique Southern football style: liberal, beautiful and dedicated. However, now only Ho Chi Minh City Club and Binh Duong Club remain in V-League.
First division teams such as Long An, Dong Thap, Dong Nai, Ba Ria - Vung Tau are just existing, not strong enough (or hesitant to invest) to break into V-League.
If this season, Binh Phuoc Club plays hard to get promoted, it will be the necessary push for "neighboring" teams to be more bold in playing football.
