Since ancient times, scientists have always wanted to find therapies to help people stay young, healthy, beautiful, live long and not suffer from serious diseases. What are these anti-aging therapies?

Dr. Phan Thanh Hao - Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Anti-Aging Association - said so at the 13th Stem Cell Conference held in Ho Chi Minh City on December 6.
"Previously, the concept of aging was often associated with people aged 60 and over, but according to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2000, aging appeared from the age of 40, not only in the appearance of the skin, hair... but also in the decline in function of organs in the body," said Dr. Thanh Hao.
There are four causes of aging. The first is due to the decline in quantity and quality of cells in the body.
The second is due to the body's immune system being weakened. When the body's immune system is weakened, it is very easy to get sick, viruses will attack, leading to faster aging.
The third is due to the imbalance of internal environment-hormones.
The fourth is due to a lack of energy to regenerate oxidants.
From these four causes, scientists seek therapies to slow down the aging process.
Currently, the cause of aging is "found" through paraclinical studies, through gene screening technologies that can determine what diseases the body may have in the future. From there, preventive measures are proposed to slow down the aging process. Depending on each individual, clinicians will provide appropriate anti-aging therapies for that individual.
There are many ways to fight aging, including supplementing stem cells to slow down the aging process. In addition, there are also ways such as supplementing to strengthen the immune system, balancing hormones, supplementing antioxidants, purifying and detoxifying the body...
"Why use stem cells in tissue to fight aging? Because the characteristics and functions of stem cells in tissue are easy to culture and proliferate very well. In addition, stem cells in tissue also have the function of renewing, regenerating, and repairing. That is why many clinicians and scientists have applied stem cells in anti-aging," Dr. Thanh Hao informed.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Nguyen Anh Dung, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, said that stem cells have been opening up great prospects in modern medicine, from treating complex diseases, regenerating tissues to applications in various fields.
Ho Chi Minh City, as the country’s leading scientific and medical center, has always been a pioneer in accessing and applying advanced technologies, while promoting research in the field of stem cells. These advances not only serve the development of the medical industry but also contribute to raising the city’s position on the international scientific map.
In addition, Mr. Dung also noted the need to strictly comply with legal regulations in the research, production and application of stem cells.
Need to control advertising violations
Associate Professor Tran Cong Toai, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Stem Cell Association, said that many domestic units have been allowed by the Ministry of Health to conduct clinical trials applying stem cells since 2012.
Associate Professor Toai said that managers need to control violations of false advertising, exceeding the scope of expertise, or places without a license to operate stem cell examination and treatment...
