Four Vietnamese golfers hit the opening strokes of the Faldo Series Asia 2025

On the opening day of competition, the Vietnamese team had an impressive start with a series of negative-putt results, creating a "birdie shower" on home turf.

Nguyen Tuan Anh was the best player from Vietnam on the first day. The young golfer scored 7 birdies and only 1 bogey, thereby closing the round with a score of 65 strokes (-6).

This result not only helped Tuan Anh lead the overall rankings, but also take the top spot in the U16 men's group.

A week ago, also at Laguna Lang Co, Nguyen Tuan Anh won stage 3 of VGA Junior Tour 2025 with a total score of (-9).

Besides Tuan Anh, other representatives of Vietnam also played well. Faldo Series Asia 2024 champion Nguyen Duc Son and Doan Uy both shot 68 strokes (-3), sharing the T2 position on the overall table and co-leading the U21 men's table.

Meanwhile, Ho Anh Huy ended the day with 69 strokes (-2), temporarily ranked T4 in the overall table and T2 in the U16 men's table.

The remaining Vietnamese athletes, Nguyen Trong Hoang hit (+2) strokes, Tran The Bao, Nguyen Bao Chau and Than Bao Nghi (+5), Ha Nam Khanh, Nguyen Khanh Linh and Nguyen Quoc Bao Huy (+9), Nguyen Xuan Vuong (+12), Hana Vuong (+14), Ngo Thanh Son (WD).

Founded by British golf legend Nick Faldo, the Faldo Series is the world's most prestigious junior golf tournament system, where many top names have grown up such as Rory McIlroy, Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann.
