(CLO) During 2 days (November 19 and 20), the Department of Cultural Heritage (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) coordinated with Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces to organize "Training, professional development, and teaching of intangible cultural heritage" and "Heritage model connecting with tourism journeys to develop ethnic minority communities with similar heritages" in the Kon Tum - Gia Lai heritage tourism journey.
The training course was attended by nearly 30 trainees who are Jrai artisans and elite artisans (Gia Lai) and 30 Xo Dang artisans and elite artisans (Kon Tum).
Mr. Nong Quoc Thanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Information, said: Participants will be trained and professionally developed on "The art of making and using bamboo musical instruments of the Xo Dang and Jrai people" during the Kon Tum - Gia Lai heritage tour.
Researcher Bui Trong Hien shares his experiences with artisans attending a training course in Gia Lai province.
The model will equip students with many skills to promote the traditional cultural heritage values of the community where they live, such as: identifying, analyzing, and selecting to introduce the cultural heritages of which they are the subject. The most prominent of these is the photovoice technique - the community tells its own cultural stories.
The new point that the training course will bring to the community in the activities of self-preservation and promotion of the value of cultural heritage that they themselves are the creators and owners of is that artisans and those who are knowledgeable about the heritage of the community will be encouraged to practice and pass on the heritage to the younger generation. Young people will be directly guided in the techniques of self-filming, recording, and recording the current status of heritage practice in the community. From there, new resources will be created for the community to develop sustainably.
According to Mr. Phan Van Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Kon Tum province: The Department of Cultural Heritage selects the heritage of the art of making and the practice of using bamboo musical instruments of the Xo Dang and Jrai people in Kon Tum and Gia Lai provinces to build a heritage model connected with tourism itineraries to develop ethnic minority communities, which will help them be more proud of the value of the heritage they are holding, to continue to protect and promote the value; the community actively transmits and shares knowledge and skills in making and using musical instruments in rituals and cultural activities of the community; builds into a tourist destination to connect and create heritage tourism itineraries that bring practical benefits and support the lives of the host community.
The Jrai community in Ia Grai district happily welcomes visitors to the Dugout Canoe Racing Festival on the Po Co River.
In Gia Lai province, trainees at the training course were given experiences, knowledge and skills by researcher Bui Trong Hien (Vietnam National Institute of Culture and Arts) to improve their expertise and skills in teaching intangible cultural heritage; ways and methods to build and implement a connected heritage model. Thereby contributing to sustainable transmission to preserve and promote the values of the heritage they hold.
After completing the training course, the trainees will be taught and have practical experience in the community (for 10 days) to apply the knowledge learned in the class. This is one of the activities to implement Project 6, under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas, 2021-2030 period, Phase I from 2021-2025.
