Sentenced to 8 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking

For the act of illegally buying and selling drugs, defendant Pham Quoc Dung was sentenced to 8 years in prison by the People's Court of Duc Tho district ( Ha Tinh ).

According to the indictment, at around 8:00 a.m. on March 22, 2023, Pham Quoc Dung (born in 1990, residing in Chau Tung village, Tung Anh commune, Duc Tho district) went to Tay Son town, Huong Son district, and asked a man to buy 2.5 million VND worth of drugs and 1.1 million VND worth of crystal meth for the purpose of using and selling for profit.

On June 21, Duc Tho District People's Court opened a trial for defendant Pham Quoc Dung for illegal drug trafficking.

On March 23 and 24, 2023, in Chau Tung village, Tung Anh commune, Pham Quoc Dung illegally sold drugs three times to the following subjects: D.V.U, P.D.K and VNG.

At 8:30 a.m. on March 24, 2023, Pham Quoc Dung was arrested by Duc Tho District Police in an emergency. Searching Dung's residence, the authorities seized 2.7637 grams of drugs, including 0.8936 grams of Heroin and 1.8737 grams of Methamphetamine (crystal meth).

Duc Tho District People's Court sentenced defendant Pham Quoc Dung to 8 years in prison for "Illegal drug trafficking".

It is known that in 2014, Pham Quoc Dung was administratively punished by the People's Committee of Duc Tho district and sent to a compulsory drug rehabilitation facility; in 2016, he was sentenced to 9 months of suspended imprisonment by the People's Court of Duc Tho district for the crime of "Theft of property".
