Coast Guard Region 2 Command receives delegation from Philippine Coast Guard

On the morning of April 16, at the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, Major General Tran Quang Tuan - Commander of Coast Guard Region 2 received Rear Admiral Joeven L Fabul - Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard along with representatives of the Embassy and the Office of the Philippine Defense Attaché in Vietnam.

Major General Tran Quang Tuan - Commander of Coast Guard Region 2 expressed his joy when welcoming Rear Admiral Joeven L Fabul - Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard and the delegation to visit and learn about the facilities, equipment, coast guard ships, and training facilities in the Coast Guard Region 2 of Vietnam. At the same time, he affirmed that many important and meaningful activities within the framework of the visit of the Philippine Coast Guard delegation created a good opportunity for young officers of both sides to exchange experiences, improve their professional qualifications and practices in law enforcement; handle search and rescue situations, fires and explosions, and handle marine environmental pollution incidents.

Rear Admiral Joeven L Fabul – Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and the authorities, and hoped that the visit would continue to affirm the good cooperative relationship between the two Coast Guard forces and the two countries' armies; contributing to enhancing mutual understanding and trust and promoting practical and effective cooperation between the Coast Guard forces of Vietnam and the Philippines, towards building a peaceful, stable and sustainable sea area.

On this occasion, at the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, a friendly volleyball match was also held between officers and soldiers of the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 and the Philippine Coast Guard. Before that, the two sides had a working session to agree on a plan to organize joint search and rescue and fire prevention exercises in the Da Nang sea area.
