Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Quang, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Naval Region 2; representatives of the command of agencies and units under Naval Region 2. Representatives of the leaders of the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, departments, branches, and organizations of Vung Tau City; Ward 12, Vung Tau City, and the family of martyr Do Tung Linh.
Comrade Do Tung Linh was born on April 15, 1989, in Ky Phu commune, Nho Quan district, Ninh Binh province; enlisted in September 2008. During more than 15 years of service in the Army, holding many different positions, before his death, Captain Do Tung Linh was the Party Cell Secretary, Political Commissar of Ship 214, Naval Region 2. He was a dedicated, responsible officer, with a strong will, good moral qualities, exemplary in words and deeds, caring and helping comrades and teammates, always accepting and excellently completing all assigned tasks; a filial son, an exemplary husband and father, wholeheartedly loving his family.
Captain Do Tung Linh died on December 16, 2023, while performing defense and security duties at sea, in the DK1 Platform area, in the waters of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. To recognize the heroic sacrifice of Captain Do Tung Linh for the cause of national construction and defense, on February 26, 2025, the Prime Minister signed Decision No. 437/QD-TTg on granting the "Fatherland's Gratitude" Certificate to martyr Do Tung Linh.
At the ceremony to announce the Decision and award the certificate of “The Fatherland's Gratitude” to the family of martyr Do Tung Linh, Lieutenant Colonel Le Hong Quang shared the pain and loss of the martyr's family; at the same time, he affirmed that this is an activity to show affection and responsibility for the dedication and sacrifice of martyr Do Tung Linh and his family for the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland, for the happiness of the people.
