Attending the welcoming ceremony were Party Central Committee members: Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Standing Member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense; Pham Tat Thang, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Deputy Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Also joining the delegation were: Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, and leaders of Lang Son provincial government.

General and Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang welcomed Senior Lieutenant General and Minister of National Defense of China Dong Jun right at the border line between the two countries.

After the welcoming ceremony, the two Ministers and members of the two delegations took souvenir photos, recording the meaningful moment at the meeting place of friendship, where the two sides are joining hands to build a border of peace, friendship, cooperation and development.

Two Ministers review the Guard of Honor of the Vietnam People's Army

On this occasion, Minister Phan Van Giang and Minister Dong Quan planted friendship trees and visited the friendship tree garden planted by young people of the two countries' armies in the border gate area, demonstrating the determination of the young generations of the two countries in joining hands to preserve and promote the tradition of solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and China.

The welcoming ceremony took place in a warm atmosphere of friendship with many Vietnamese people and students holding flags and waving flowers.

Following the exchange activities in China the day before, the two countries' Defense Ministers will participate in activities within the framework of the exchange in Vietnam: visiting Dong Dang Primary School, attending the inauguration ceremony of the multi-purpose building there; visiting the Border Guard Station at Huu Nghi International Border Gate; and visiting Viettel Lang Son Logistics Park.

Next, the two Ministers will co-chair talks between high-ranking delegations of the two countries' Defense Ministries at Muong Thanh Hotel.
