Welcoming Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou to visit and work at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Minister Nguyen Van Hung emphasized that Vietnam and Belarus have a very good friendship, both in the past and present. In recent times, the two countries have continuously strengthened comprehensive cooperation in the socio -economic fields, for common development.
Regarding the fields of culture, sports and tourism, the Minister said that on the basis of implementing signed cooperation documents, cultural, sports and tourism exchange and cooperation activities between the two countries have developed well in recent times.
In particular, the two sides have regularly maintained the organization of cultural exchange programs, especially the programs of Vietnam Cultural Days in Belarus (2015, 2018) and Belarusian Cultural Days in Vietnam (2014, 2017, 2023).
In addition, the two countries always pay attention to sending artists to participate in international cultural and art festivals organized by the two countries. Belarus always sends films to participate in the Hanoi International Film Festival, and sends artists to participate in the International Circus Festival organized by Vietnam...
The Minister affirmed that through culture and through culture, the people of the two countries have had the opportunity to understand each other better, creating a foundation for strengthening cooperation in all fields. Cultural soft power has actively contributed to developing the Vietnam-Belarus friendship.

Regarding sports, the Minister said that based on the signed sports cooperation agreement, the two sides have implemented a number of activities. Vietnam hopes that Belarus will strengthen cooperation in sending experts in strong sports to train the Vietnamese team. At the same time, Vietnam also hopes to continue sending national teams to train in Belarus, helping Vietnamese sports develop better.
Regarding tourism, Vietnam and Belarus apply a bilateral visa exemption policy, creating very good conditions for tourism development cooperation. The number of Belarusian visitors to Vietnam increases gradually every year and will reach over 15,000 by 2024.
The Minister affirmed that, on the basis of inheriting the traditional friendship and good multi-faceted cooperation that existed between Vietnam and the former Soviet Union, the cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus has had good developments, with many highlights in the fields of culture, sports and tourism.
Thanking and appreciating the role of Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou in connecting and promoting cooperation between the two countries, the Minister expressed hope and belief that in the coming time, cultural, sports and tourism cooperation will continue to develop more strongly, contributing to the good development of friendly relations between the two countries.
Expressing his pleasure to visit and work at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou affirmed that Vietnam and Belarus have a long-standing good relationship. Promoting cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and tourism will contribute to further consolidating and strengthening this good friendship.
Thanking the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for creating conditions for Belarus to organize many cultural events in Vietnam in recent times, especially the special concert "Belarus Night in Hanoi" in December 2024, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou expressed his hope to continue receiving support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in organizing cultural exchange activities in Vietnam in the coming time.
Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou hopes to organize many exchange activities and exhibitions so that the young generations of the two countries can better understand each other's history, especially on the occasion of the two countries' major events and holidays this year.
The Ambassador also hopes that the two sides will increase visits, delegation exchanges, increase the number of tourists, and people-to-people exchanges to further develop cultural, sports and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
Proposing some ideas for future cooperation, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou hoped to receive support from Vietnam to build a bust of poet Yanka Kupala - a classic poet of Belarus and place this statue in a park in Hanoi. At the same time, translate the classic works of this poet into Vietnamese.
In addition, the Ambassador also proposed to increase the screenings of Balarus films in Vietnam and Vietnamese films in Belarus. At the same time, further promote cooperation activities in the fields of museums and exhibitions...
Regarding tourism, after Belarus exempted visas for Vietnamese citizens (previously Vietnam exempted visas for Belarus citizens), the Ambassador hopes that there will soon be a direct flight between Vietnam and Belarus to promote tourism, contributing to increasing the number of tourists from Vietnam to Belarus and vice versa.
Regarding sports, thanking Vietnam for sending a delegation to the Open Independent States Sports Tournament in Belarus, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou said that Belarus has high-quality sports infrastructure and can host many major tournaments. With the good cooperative relationship between the two countries, Belarus is ready to provide all possible support for Vietnamese teams to compete in Belarus.
The Ambassador also hopes that sports training schools of the two countries will strengthen connections and cooperate more closely in the coming time.
Emphasizing that cultural relations play a very important role in cooperation between the two countries, Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou expressed his hope that cultural, sports and tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Belarus will take place more strongly and effectively in the coming time.

Thanking Ambassador Uladzimir Baravikou for his proposals to strengthen cultural, sports and tourism cooperation between the two countries, Minister Nguyen Van Hung said that in Vietnam, the Politburo has just issued Resolution 59-NQ/TW dated January 24, 2025 on "international integration in the new situation", emphasizing the element of cultural diplomacy. In addition, the leaders of the Party, the State and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism have identified one of the contents of international cooperation in the field of culture, sports and tourism as "moving from meetings and exchanges to genuine cooperation".
The Minister emphasized that Resolution 59 of the Politburo and the viewpoint on cultural diplomacy will open up a direction for cooperation with Belarus in a more in-depth, increasingly effective and practical direction.

Emphasizing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation in culture, sports and tourism between Vietnam and Belarus, the Minister suggested that in the coming time, the two sides need to strengthen cooperation more effectively and substantially. The direction of cooperation must be substantial, have content, and ensure time to implement activities.
Accordingly, the two sides need to prepare soon to sign new cooperation documents in the fields of culture, sports and tourism. Continue to maintain high-level delegation exchanges; organize Vietnam Cultural Day in Belarus and Belarus Cultural Day in Vietnam, film weeks, photo exhibitions, coordinate to promote destinations of the two countries so that Belarusians can better understand Vietnam and vice versa; strengthen people-to-people exchanges through cooperation in developing culture and tourism; promote coordination and cooperation in the field of training.
