On the morning of January 15, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) organized the 6th National Forum on Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises in Hanoi.

Based on the theme "Mastering digital technology, mastering Vietnam's digital transformation process with Vietnamese digital technology enterprises" of this year's forum, the Minister of Information and Communications emphasized: "Vietnamese technology enterprises must take on the mission of making the country famous".

Speaking at the event, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed that "technology" is the answer for Vietnam to increase labor productivity, develop rapidly and sustainably, develop inclusively, escape the middle-income trap, and turn Vietnam into a developed socialist country, on par with the world's powers.

"Vietnam, with its own problems, is the market for Vietnamese technology enterprises to be born and develop. Vietnam is also the cradle for technology enterprises from Vietnam to go global and solve global problems," said the Minister.

Citing figures, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said that over the past five years, the number of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises has increased by 50%.

With 74,000 digital technology businesses in a country of 100 million people, Vietnam is among the countries with the highest rate of digital technology businesses per capita among developing countries.

In 2024, the revenue from foreign markets of Vietnamese digital technology enterprises reached 11.5 billion USD. More importantly, this number is increasing at a rate of over 30% per year.

By 2035, Vietnam aims for digital technology businesses' revenue from foreign markets to reach 100 billion USD and surpass agricultural exports.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung assessed that this is a very high and challenging goal for Vietnamese digital technology enterprises.

However, it is a test of Vietnamese technology, a challenge that Vietnam must achieve, to become a regional and world center for science and technology, innovation and digital transformation.

"Vietnam is no longer a small country, it must stand shoulder to shoulder with the world's powers and must contribute to the development of humanity," Minister Nguyen Manh Hung affirmed.

Recently, Resolution 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation has also conveyed the message of "self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, self-strengthening and national pride" to promote Vietnamese intelligence.

Resolution 57 identifies science and technology, innovation and digital transformation as the three main pillars for national development in the new era.

In which, science and technology are the foundation, it creates new knowledge and new technology. Innovation is the driving force, it transforms new knowledge and new technology into new ideas and new solutions. It is the "magic wand" to turn research results into new products, new services, new processes, creating practical values for socio-economic development.

Along with that, for the first time, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation are included in a Resolution of the Politburo, and will be included in a merged Ministry of the two Ministries of Science and Technology and Information and Communications.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung emphasized that the interconnectivity and inseparability of these three will create a new, breakthrough and revolutionary driving force for the development of science and technology and innovation in the digital environment.
