Vietnamese and Singaporean Foreign Ministers enjoy pho and iced milk coffee

Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son and Singaporean Foreign Minister along with members of the two countries' foreign ministries had breakfast with beef noodle soup, vermicelli soup with chicken, fish noodle soup and sticky rice.
On the morning of August 29, within the framework of the Singaporean Prime Minister's official visit to Vietnam, Foreign MinisterBui Thanh Son invited Singaporean Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan to enjoy traditional Vietnamese culinary culture at a restaurant on Ly Thuong Kiet Street. The two ministers enjoyed beef pho with fried dough sticks, while other members enjoyed chicken pho, bun thang, seafood fish vermicelli and sticky rice. Afterwards, members of the two delegations enjoyed coffee before starting a busy working day. The sophisticated way of preparing dishes and the fresh ingredients from many regions make Vietnamese cuisine always win the hearts of gourmets, including international politicians. Traditional Vietnamese cuisine is always a "topic" that attracts the attention of heads of state and politicians, even though they have a busy schedule when visiting Vietnam.
Minister Bui Thanh Son welcomed Minister Vivian Balakrishnan.
On his personal Facebook page, Singapore's Foreign Minister said he was delighted to return to Hanoi with Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong after a visit in June 2021. He wrote: "A wonderful meeting with Vietnamese leaders, including Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong, President Vo Van Thuong, Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue and my good friend, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son. Our bilateral cooperation has been growing steadily, especially in the fields of renewable energy, carbon credits and human resource development cooperation."
The two Ministers and members of the two Foreign Ministries enjoyed traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
In mid-July, during his visit to Singapore, Minister Bui Thanh Son was invited by Mr. Vivian Balakrishnan to visit and enjoy the country's street food at Maxwell Hawker Center. This is one of the most famous and largest food centers in Singapore, with more than 100 street food stalls. The two Ministers enjoyed pancakes, Hainanese chicken rice and Indian-style milk tea.
