On the evening of August 21, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese - Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a Gala dinner to welcome the 4th Conference of Overseas Vietnamese around the world and the Forum of Overseas Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts. Speaking at the welcoming party, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son welcomed nearly 500 overseas Vietnamese delegates from more than 40 countries and territories across all continents who were present in Hanoi to attend the conference and forum. The Minister emphasized that the conference and forum are meaningful events for overseas Vietnamese as well as the entire nation. This is not only an opportunity for Vietnamese people from all over the world to meet, reunite, and reunite, but also a forum for people to contribute ideas to build the country.

In many places around the world, we are proud that there are more and more Vietnamese people who are politicians, scientists, businessmen, famous artists, respected by society and the community", Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed. The Party and State always care for and look after the Vietnamese community abroad. All policies and guidelines are issued in the spirit of considering the people as an "inseparable part" of the Vietnamese ethnic community. According to the Minister, in the 20 years since Resolution No. 36 of the Politburo was issued, many meaningful programs and activities such as Spring Homeland, overseas Vietnamese delegation attending the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, visiting the soldiers and people of Truong Sa island district and DK1 Platform, Vietnam Summer Camp, Vietnamese Language Honor Day... have been organized. Minister Bui Thanh Son shared, "going to return", no matter what the reason or circumstances, deep in the heart of the people, they always turn to their homeland, always longing to return to their roots. The Fatherland always opens its arms to welcome those who are far away from home to return, wishing to join hands and shoulder the burden of the country.

The fourth conference of overseas Vietnamese around the world, the Forum of Overseas Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts 2024 will take place from August 21-24. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang, Chairwoman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese, said that the event aims to create a forum with an open space for overseas Vietnamese around the world to have the opportunity to meet, exchange, share ideas and contribute as much as possible to the development of the country. The event is not only a place to listen to the enthusiastic opinions of the overseas Vietnamese community but also an opportunity for domestic agencies to receive valuable suggestions, serving the work of policy making and building sustainable development strategies. Nearly 500 delegates from more than 40 countries and territories have registered to attend, Deputy Minister Le Thu Hang said that this is an impressive number, exceeding the initial expectation, demonstrating the deep concern and responsibility of overseas Vietnamese.
