Cuban Foreign Minister highlights special relationship with Vietnam

According to a VNA correspondent in Havana, during a meeting on September 13 with Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba Le Quang Long, Mr. Bruno Rodríguez highlighted the solid bilateral political exchanges at the highest leadership level, the brotherly affection, solidarity, cooperation and mutual admiration between the people of Cuba and Vietnam.

On this occasion, Minister Bruno Rodríguez once again sent his condolences to the Vietnamese people for the passing of the late General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, who made many great contributions to the good bilateral relationship.

Minister Bruno Rodríguez also sent condolences to the Vietnamese government and people for the loss of life and property caused by storm No. 3 (typhoon Yagi); at the same time, he announced that Cuba will send a team of doctors and experts to Vietnam to help people overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.

On behalf of the Party and Government of Vietnam, Ambassador Le Quang Long thanked the Cuban leaders for their condolences and messages of support to the Vietnamese people, as well as the timely assistance of the Cuban brotherhood in the face of natural disasters; affirming that this is a noble gesture demonstrating the special relationship between Vietnam and Cuba.

Ambassador Le Quang Long reaffirmed Vietnam’s steadfast stance calling on the US to lift the embargo on Cuba; the Vietnamese Government is always ready to promote investment, trade and support Cuba in food production…

Ambassador Le Quang Long also pledged to do his best to foster the friendship, good cooperation and brotherhood between the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples.
