At the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Kim Tuyen - Deputy Director in charge of the Department of Organization and Personnel announced Decision No. 1888/QD-BTNMT dated July 10, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh appointed Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga, Deputy Director of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change to hold the position of Director of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.

The leader of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh believes that Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga will inherit the achievements, unite, build and develop the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change to further develop to contribute to the overall development of the Natural Resources and Environment sector.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga expressed her gratitude to the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment for their trust and confidence in her to hold the position of Director of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change. The new Director Pham Thi Thanh Nga said that this is a great honor and also a heavy responsibility assigned by the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
In her new position, Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Thi Thanh Nga promises to use all her abilities, qualifications and knowledge to complete the task. The Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change always hopes to receive the support of the Party Committee, the leaders of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and all cadres, civil servants and public employees of the natural resources and environment sector so that the collective as well as the new Director can complete the assigned tasks.
In an exchange with the leaders of the Institute of Meteorology, Hydrology and Climate Change and key officials of the Institute, the Minister said that, facing the current challenges of climate change, as a research institute in the very broad field of hydrometeorology and climate change science, Minister Dang Quoc Khanh expects the new Director as well as the Institute's staff to promote their professional knowledge, gather scientists from the Institute, the Ministry as well as leading scientists in the field of the country and internationally, from which they can conduct research and advise the leaders of the Ministry to make important decisions for the country.
At the same time, in addition to enhancing its position through scientific works, the Institute focuses more on coordinating with units under the Ministry, ministries, branches, organizations and individuals to develop topics and projects that are closely linked to reality, have national strategic significance on climate change adaptation, and hydrometeorological science increasingly meets the expectations of the Ministry, the country and the people. Emphasizing that human resources are the core of the development of the Institute in general and the specialized staff of the Ministry, in the work of human resource training, the Minister requested the Institute's leaders to pay more attention, have systematic and specialized training programs in a serious and open-minded spirit for graduate students to gather and develop many future scientists to serve the natural resources and environment sector in particular and the country in general.
