"I asked, Binh Phuoc is the capital, the kingdom of cashew trees, what if people abandon the tree that has been attached to Binh Phuoc for generations. People said: Growing durian brings in 1 billion VND/ha, while growing cashew only brings in about 35-40 million VND/ha, what do you think we should do? This is a very bitter answer. There are practical issues that make me think a lot," said Minister Le Minh Hoan.

From the above real story, talking about the solution, Minister Le Minh Hoan said: We must adapt to the market rules, we cannot stop farmers, we need to have other economic tools. "In Binh Phuoc, there are 2 stories related to cashew trees, we have organized an agricultural extension model to grow red lingzhi mushrooms under the cashew canopy. Thus, in the cashew garden, there are many layers of crop value and red lingzhi mushrooms can bring very high economic value", said Minister Hoan.

In the coming time, Binh Phuoc will restructure the durian industry. "There is no other way, if we want to build a durian brand, we must have an industry association, in which there is a connection between businesses, warehouses and durian farmers to protect the brand and trademark". Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has just signed the second Protocol on processed durian such as durian rice, durian seeds, frozen durian... Therefore, Minister Le Minh Hoan affirmed that we have now opened the durian industry to the Chinese market. Therefore, we need to make durian a national product, build and design a common policy on durian for farmers, businesses, science and technology, infrastructure... Because we are currently behind the Thai and Malaysian markets in exporting durian to China.
