Accordingly, the General Director of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies added the highest growth target for the rural clean water and environmental sanitation loan program of VND200 billion and VND90 billion for loans to support job creation, job maintenance and expansion; followed by the loan program for production and business households in difficult areas of VND7 billion and the loan program for people who have completed their prison sentences of VND5.5 billion.
In addition, in order to contribute to increasing capital sources for implementing policy credit in the area, the People's Committees at provincial and district levels have entrusted the budget to the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies with VND 78.5 billion, including VND 60 billion from the provincial budget and VND 18.5 billion from the district budget.
In the first quarter of 2025, the VBSP Branch disbursed VND 508.29 billion to 10,958 borrowers; debt collection reached VND 355.14 billion; total outstanding debt reached VND 4,626.59 billion, an increase of VND 153.18 billion compared to the beginning of the year, credit growth rate reached 3.42%, with 119,448 customers with outstanding debt. Credit quality has been continuously consolidated and improved; overdue debt and frozen debt decreased by VND 222 million compared to the beginning of the year.
Social policy credit capital has reached 314 poor households, 430 near-poor households, 630 newly escaped poverty households, 308 student households, 3,190 local workers, 130 workers working abroad for a limited period, 5,469 households borrowing to build and repair clean water and sanitation facilities in rural areas, 460 households doing business in difficult areas, 2 traders doing business in difficult areas and 13 people who have completed their prison sentences.
In the second quarter of 2025, the Provincial Branch of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies will continue to coordinate with local authorities, entrusted socio-political organizations and Savings and Loan groups to promote the dissemination of preferential credit policies, grasp the demand for loans, deploy loan evaluation, prepare loan applications and coordinate timely disbursement for poor households and other policy beneficiaries who have the need and are eligible for loans, promptly complete the assigned credit growth target, contributing to the successful implementation of socio-economic development targets in the province, especially the GRDP growth target of 8% or more.
