The US's suspension of reciprocal tariffs for 90 days on exports from countries, including Vietnam, is a positive step.

That was the statement of Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the afternoon of April 10.

“In the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, Vietnam will negotiate with the United States on a reciprocal trade agreement, on the basis of mutual respect, to achieve satisfactory solutions towards fair and sustainable trade and to meet the interests of the people and businesses of the two countries,” said Ms. Pham Thu Hang.

Ms. Pham Thu Hang said this demonstrates the spirit of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between the two countries, as well as the spirit of celebrating the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Earlier, in the early morning of April 10 (Vietnam time), President Donald Trump announced on the social network Truth Social that the United States would suspend tariffs for 90 days on 75 trading partner countries that do not retaliate against the United States./.
