Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning affirmed that Mr. Li Qiang's first visit to Vietnam as Prime Minister this time achieved positive results.

The recent visit of Chinese Premier Li Qiang to Vietnam was his first visit as Prime Minister and achieved positive results.

This was the assertion of Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning at a regular press conference held on October 14, when answering questions about the results of Prime Minister Li Qiang's visit to Vietnam and Laos.

According to a VNA correspondent in Beijing, Ms. Mao Ning said the visit contributed to emphasizing the strategic significance of building a Community of Shared Future between the two sides. The Vietnamese Party and Government emphasized that they always consider relations with China a strategic choice and a top priority in their foreign policy.

The two sides believe that the development of one country is an opportunity for the development of the other, a positive factor for the development of the region and the world, and agreed to persistently grasp bilateral relations from a strategic height and long-term vision, persistently support each other in the process of promoting the construction of socialism and modernization with the characteristics of each country, well implement the important common perceptions of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries, and promote the building of the Community of a Shared Future between the two sides to achieve more practical results.

According to Ms. Mao Ning, during the visit, the two sides reaffirmed their principled stances on major issues; agreed to strengthen coordination and collaboration in multilateral mechanisms; actively implement cooperation within the framework of three global initiatives; and jointly support an equal, orderly, multipolar world and comprehensive, inclusive economic globalization.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman emphasized that the highlight of the visit's achievements was that the two sides agreed to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation.

China and Vietnam will promote strategic connectivity for development between the two countries; accelerate the promotion of “hard connectivity” in railways, highways, border gate infrastructure and “soft connectivity” in smart customs, etc.; strongly support the improvement of trade and investment facilitation, ensuring a safe and stable supply chain; actively research and pilot the construction of a cross-border economic cooperation zone; expand cooperation in emerging fields such as information technology, new energy, digital economy, important minerals, etc.; well organize activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations and the “Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange” 2025./.
