For the 2023-2024 academic year, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) requires schools to strengthen political and ideological education; and education on ethics, lifestyle, and life skills for students.

At the same time, synchronously deploy solutions to prevent and combat school violence; prevent and combat social evils and drugs, and ensure school safety.
The Ministry of Education and Training ( MOET ) has just issued a document guiding the implementation of political education and student affairs tasks for the 2023-2024 academic year for Departments of Education and Training; Universities, Academies, Colleges of Education, and Teacher Training Colleges.
Accordingly, the general tasks include: Promoting activities to support students in their studies and training; effectively implementing psychological counseling, social work, career counseling, job placement, and support for student entrepreneurship; reviewing and proposing amendments and additions to support policies for students in difficult circumstances.
Organize activities to disseminate, explain, educate, and raise awareness among students about legal knowledge, policies and guidelines of the Party, State, Government, and Ministry of Education and Training regarding educational reform; skills in traffic safety, fire prevention and rescue; strengthen the application of technology and digital transformation in management; proactively and promptly handle communication issues related to political education and student affairs.
Innovate and improve the quality of teaching political theory, ethics and civic education.
Regarding political, ideological, and cultural education, the Ministry of Education and Training requires: Innovation and improvement of the quality of teaching and learning in subjects such as political theory, ethics, civic education, economics, and law; content on national history, revolutionary history, and culture in schools; strengthening guidance and management of political and ideological education in educational institutions with foreign elements, private schools, and joint training programs with foreign countries.
Organize activities to study and follow the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh; thoroughly disseminate, publicize, and guide teachers, education administrators, and students to actively participate in the "Youth Studying and Following the Ideology, Ethics, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" competition.
Simultaneously, implement Party member development work in schools, foster awareness of the Party among students; focus on identifying and nurturing outstanding and exemplary students through patriotic emulation movements, learning and training activities, and Youth Union/Student Association activities to create a pool of potential Party members; and develop and replicate models for creating a pool of potential Party members in schools.
Monitoring and understanding the political and ideological situation among students; effectively organizing dialogue between school leaders, teachers, and educational administrators with students to understand their thoughts and aspirations and promptly address difficulties and concerns; proactively identifying and coordinating with the police, local authorities, and relevant agencies and organizations to handle complex political and ideological issues related to students; preventing students from being lured or enticed into participating in illegal religious groups and organizations, or activities that oppose the Party and the State, or disrupt security and social order.
Do not organize for students to participate in games with violent or offensive content or forms.
Regarding the education of ethics, lifestyle, and life skills, the Ministry of Education and Training requires schools to implement the Program "Strengthening the Education of Revolutionary Ideals, Ethics, Lifestyle, and Awakening the Aspiration for Contribution among Young People, Adolescents, and Children in the period 2021-2030" (approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1895/QD-TTg dated November 11, 2021); focusing on educating young people, adolescents, and children about revolutionary ideals and political fortitude; fostering a will to study, train, establish themselves, and build a career; developing life skills, professional skills, and employment opportunities; cultivating ethics and civic awareness; and inspiring aspirations for self-improvement and a spirit of volunteerism and dedication.
In coordination with the Youth Union, Young Pioneers, and Student Association, strictly review and manage the content and format of games and extracurricular activities for students; do not organize games (online or interactive) with violent, offensive, or inappropriate content that is inconsistent with national culture and social moral standards.
In addition, the organization manages and conducts life skills and values education activities for students; develops plans to strengthen life skills education at all levels of education in the area, contributing to improving the overall quality of education for students; establishes clubs based on interests, talents, and English clubs in schools; organizes forums and seminars and encourages students to participate in order to develop their abilities, qualities, and life skills, creating a good environment for students to improve their foreign language skills, especially English.
