The Ministry of Education and Training has just announced the answers for the literature subject of the 2024 high school graduation exam.

The high school graduation exam only has the literature subject tested in essay format. The literature exam is open, however this also raises concerns about the situation of "strict marking, loose marking" or subjective scoring by the examiner.

According to the Ministry of Education and Training, each essay test is graded independently by two officers. In addition to the two rounds above, the essay test must also be graded by a department independent of the examiners in the two rounds. The graded test is randomly selected from the graded papers. The examiner only records the score on the individual grading sheet, not on the candidate's test.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Quality Management, besides the suggestions in the marking instructions, there is always an open section (written in the instructions), but if the candidate answers with a different option that is still in line with the orientation, or has a developmental nature, then it can be considered. "Thus, I can affirm that in marking, if the examiner encounters special cases, there is absolutely a basis for consideration," said Mr. Ha.
