In the list of Indonesian players preparing for the 2 matches against the Vietnam national team, there are 2 names: Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen. These are players with Dutch-Indonesian blood and are in the process of completing the procedures to receive Indonesian citizenship.
However, due to some problems in the paperwork process, these two players have not officially obtained Indonesian citizenship. Both need to return to Indonesia to complete the oath before being officially recognized as Indonesian citizens.
Currently, both Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen have not returned to Indonesia so it is unknown when the duo will complete the naturalization procedures.
Notably, March 14 will be the deadline for teams to pre-register players to participate in the two matches in March. If they cannot complete the naturalization procedure before March 14, Thom Haye and Ragnar Oratmangoen will not be eligible to play in the matches between Indonesia and Vietnam.
Coach Shin Tae Yong is hopeful that the duo, who are currently playing in the Dutch National Championship, will strengthen the Indonesian team when they face Vietnam again. However, with the current developments, the Korean coach will have to consider other options.
According to the schedule, the match between Vietnam and Indonesia will take place in two legs on March 21 and 26. The first leg on March 21 will take place in Jakarta (Indonesia), the second leg on March 26 at My Dinh Stadium.
