Specifically, at 3:00 p.m. on June 18, at Keo Muong village, Phieng Khoi commune, Yen Chau district, Son La province, the working group including: Drug and Crime Prevention Department, Chieng On Border Guard Station (Son La Provincial Border Guard); Northern Drug and Crime Prevention Task Force - Drug and Crime Prevention Department (Border Guard Command) and Phieng Khoi commune police, Yen Chau district, Son La province discovered and arrested two subjects, Thao U Thong (born in 1972) and Thao Tum Vong Pha Chan (born in 1982), both residing in Sop San village, Sop San cluster, Xieng Kho district, Huaphanh province (Lao People's Democratic Republic).

Son La Provincial Border Guard arrested two Laotian subjects for illegally trading drugs.
The seized exhibits included 12,000 synthetic drug pills; 1.4 kg of opium resin; 2 mobile phones and a number of other related evidences.
Through investigation, the two subjects initially confessed to buying the above drugs from Vientiane province for 12 million VND and buying opium from Sam Neua province for 20 million VND, bringing them to Vietnam to sell at double or triple the price, then were discovered and arrested by the authorities.
The case is under investigation.
