(NLDO) - Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son told the Ministry of Industry and Trade that the new apparatus must be more effective and efficient.
On the afternoon of December 23, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade held a conference to review the work in 2024 and deploy the plan for 2025.

Reporting at the Conference, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang said that in 2024, the industry and trade sector will drastically "streamline, compact, and strengthen" its apparatus in the spirit of summarizing Resolution 18, proposing to streamline nearly 18% of the number of focal points of units under the Ministry and strongly streamline the operating apparatus from within.
"In 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to review the organizational structure towards streamlining, effective and efficient operations; evaluate and summarize the implementation of functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Trade over 4 terms (20 years), serving the development of the Government's organizational structure project for the 2026-2031 term" - Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade said.
Speaking at the Conference, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son acknowledged the high determination of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in implementing the Central Government's policy on reviewing and restructuring the apparatus and organization with a proposal to streamline nearly 18% of the number of units under the Ministry.
The Deputy Prime Minister requested the Ministry to urgently deploy the organizational arrangement work after being approved by the Government to quickly stabilize the organization, ensure no interruption in task implementation, and the new organizational structure must be more effective and efficient than the old organization.
"Ministry leaders need to pay attention to thoroughly grasping tasks, stabilizing psychology, and satisfactorily resolving policy benefits for officials when arranging positions" - Deputy Prime Minister requested.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, more than ever, the collective leadership, cadres, and employees of the Industry and Trade sector need to unite, make greater efforts, and be more determined, dare to think, dare to do, and dare to take responsibility to lead and promote the development of the Industry and Trade sector.
Believing that 2025 needs to focus on accelerating to implement the 5-year Socio-Economic Development Plan 2021-2025, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son assessed that this is the year to consolidate the fundamental factors, creating a premise for our country to confidently enter a new era - the era of national prosperity, towards successfully implementing the goals of the 10-year Socio-Economic Development Strategy 2021-2030; at the same time, it is the year to focus on organizing Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th National Party Congress.
The Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress also sets the goal that by 2025, Vietnam will become a developing country with modern industry; by 2030, the 100th anniversary of the Party's founding, it will be a developing country with modern industry.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the target of 8% growth or more in 2025 to create momentum, force, and position for the 2026-2030 period of double-digit growth is a very high requirement, requiring great efforts from the entire political system, people and businesses. In particular, the Industry and Trade sector needs to affirm its pioneering role in this process.
