Ministry of Industry and Trade concretizes Resolution on railway industry development

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued an action program to concretize the Government's Resolution on the development orientation of the railway industry to 2030. Specifically, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Decision No. 889/QD-BCT on the Action Program of the Industry and Trade sector to implement Resolution No. 178/NQ-CP dated October 31, 2023 of the Government on the Government's Action Program to implement Conclusion No. 49-KL/TW dated February 28, 2023 of the Politburo on the development orientation of Vietnam's railway transport to 2030, with a vision to 2045.

Units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, according to their assigned functions, tasks and authorities, organize research and disseminate the contents of Resolution 178/NQ-CP of the Government to all party members, civil servants, public employees and workers under their management authority.

The Government's propaganda and direction work is carried out in diverse forms, suitable for each subject to create deep awareness of the opportunities, advantages, challenges, potentials, and advantages of railway transport, to innovate thinking and promote the determination of all levels and sectors on the task of developing railway transport, developing science, technology, and human resources to build a civilized and modern urban system, and allocating resources to maximize the potential and advantages of railway transport.

In addition, build and implement a project to develop supporting industries for railways, develop a synchronous and modern railway industry associated with other industries. In addition, it is necessary to determine the list of railway industrial projects that are eligible for incentives and the level of support incentives.

Heads of agencies and units under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, according to their assigned functions, authority and tasks, specify the action program into annual planning tasks of the unit; direct and immediately deploy solutions and tasks to organize implementation according to their functions and authority in accordance with the actual conditions of the unit.

The Department of Planning and Finance shall preside over and coordinate with relevant units to monitor and urge the implementation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's action program to implement Resolution No. 178/NQ-CP of the Government; annually synthesize reports and recommend necessary measures to ensure the synchronous and effective implementation of the Resolution.

Periodically, before November 15 of each year, units must send reports on implementation results to the Department of Planning and Finance for synthesis and send them to the Ministry of Transport to report to the Prime Minister in accordance with regulations.
