(GLO)-On the afternoon of June 8, to celebrate the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023) and launch the Press Award competition with the theme "For National Security and Peaceful Life" for the period 2023-2025, the Ministry of Public Security and Gia Lai Provincial Police organized a meeting with central and local press agencies. The meeting was held online.

General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, chaired the meeting at the Hanoi bridge. Also attending the meeting were: Nguyen Manh Hung, Minister of Information and Communications, Dang Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and leaders of many Ministries, Departments, and Branches at the Central level, directly and online to 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

Attending the meeting at Gia Lai bridge were Major General Rah Lan Lam - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Director of the Provincial Police; journalist Huynh Kien - Editor-in-Chief of Gia Lai Newspaper, Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, journalist Dang Huy Cuong - Director of the Provincial Radio and Television Station, Vice Chairman of the Journalists Association, along with leaders of a number of provincial departments, branches and sectors and reporters and journalists from local press agencies, resident in the area.

At the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Public Security summarized the communication and propaganda activities and coordination of propaganda to ensure security and order in the past time. Accordingly, the press agencies under the Ministry of Public Security together with central and local press agencies promptly informed and propagated information about the movement of the entire people to protect national security, build the people's police force, and fight against hostile forces. On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security awarded the "Protecting National Security" medal to 10 individuals from central press agencies who have made many contributions to the cause of protecting national security. The Minister of Public Security also awarded certificates of merit to 11 individuals from the People's Police Newspaper and People's Police Television who had outstanding achievements in performing assigned tasks at the two agencies.

On this occasion, the Ministry of Public Security launched the Journalism Award contest with the theme "For national security and peaceful life" for the period 2023-2025; announced the regulations and approved the Decision to establish the Organizing Committee of the contest.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Public Security To Lam highly appreciated the coordination and support of central and local press agencies with the Ministry of Public Security in recent years. General To Lam also requested that central and local press agencies continue to accompany the People's Public Security Force in the coming time in the propaganda work to ensure security and order, as well as actively respond to and participate in the Press Award competition with the theme "For national security and peaceful life" for the period 2023-2025.

Also at this meeting, Gia Lai Provincial Police and local and central press agencies stationed in the area discussed and informed about coordination work in the field of ensuring security and order in the first 6 months of 2023. Over the past 6 months, Gia Lai Newspaper, Provincial Radio and Television Station and 26 representative offices and central press agencies nationwide stationed in the province have accompanied Gia Lai Police in effectively propagating the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws; reflecting the achievements of the people's police force in the fight against and prevention of crime, maintaining security and social order; promptly reflecting the methods and tricks of hostile forces and all types of crimes.

Representatives of some local and central press agencies residing in the area thanked the Provincial Police Department for their attention, providing information, and creating favorable conditions for press agencies to access information in a timely manner. The Chairman of the Gia Lai Journalists Association requested the Provincial Police to continue to pay attention, coordinate, and accompany press agencies, so that information about security, order, and the People's Police force in our province can reach readers as quickly as possible.
