The Politburo appointed comrade Pham Minh Chinh to hold the position of Secretary of the Government Party Committee.

According to the Politburo's Decision, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member and Prime Minister, holds the position of Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

On February 3, at the Party Central Committee Headquarters, the Standing Secretariat held a Conference to announce the Politburo's Decision on the establishment and appointment of personnel for four Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, including the Government Party Committee.

Also attending the Conference were Politburo members: President Luong Cuong; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu; Politburo members, Secretariat members, Party Central Committee members who are leaders of central agencies and units.

At the Conference, the representative of the Central Organizing Committee announced the Decision on ending the activities of the Government Party Committee; Decision on establishing the Government Party Committee; Decision on the functions, tasks and organizational structure of the Government Party Committee.

The representative of the Central Organizing Committee also announced the Politburo's Decision: Appointing the Government Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 57 comrades; appointing the Government Party Standing Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 17 comrades; appointing comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister to hold the position of Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term; appointing 4 comrades to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term, including: Nguyen Hoa Binh, Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of the Government to hold the position of Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Le Thi Thuy, Central Party Committee member, Ha Nam Provincial Party Secretary to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Lai Xuan Lam, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Central Agencies Bloc to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Nguyen Duc Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Central Enterprises Bloc Party Committee to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
