Nghe An Provincial Military Command: Collecting the remains of 58 Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos

On the morning of March 26, in Phonsavan town, Xieng Khouang province (Laos), the delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos came to offer incense to commemorate President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the noble international mission and visited and encouraged the officers and staff of the Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command who are carrying out the task of searching for and collecting the remains of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who sacrificed in Laos in the dry season of 2024 - 2025 in the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Xay Som Bun and Vientiane (Laos).

In the dry season of 2024 - 2025, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Nghe An Provincial Military Command was assigned the task of searching for and collecting the graves of Vietnamese martyrs and experts who died in Laos in the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Xay Som Bun and Vientiane. Currently, the work of surveying, searching and collecting martyrs' remains is facing many difficulties due to the harsh climate and weather, the martyrs' graves are mainly located in high mountains, caves, deep forests... With the attention and creation of all conditions by the Steering Committee 515 at all levels and the Party Committees, authorities, armed forces, and people of the three provinces of Xieng Khouang, Xay Som Bun and Vientiane (Laos), the officers and staff of the Team have overcome difficulties and successfully completed the assigned tasks.

With a sense of responsibility and determination, as of March 25, 2025, after more than 5 months of surveying, searching, and collecting martyrs' remains in the 2024-2025 dry season, the Martyrs' Remains Collection Team of the Provincial Military Command has searched for and collected 58 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Laos. Specifically, in Xieng Khouang province, the team collected 51 remains; Xay Som Bun province 6 remains and Vientiane province 1 remains. Currently, the martyrs' remains are being brought by the Provincial Military Command's Martyrs' Remains Collection Team to worship at the unit's barracks in Phon Sa Van town, Xieng Khouang province (Laos).

Commending the achievements of the staff of the Military Command of Nghe An province in the past time, Comrade Nguyen Minh Tam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Laos requested that in the coming time, the staff of the Military Command of the province in the Military Command will promote the achievements they have made, continue to unite, overcome difficulties to successfully complete the task of searching for and collecting the remains of martyrs, and bring them back to their homeland.

At the same time, comrade Nguyen Minh Tam also requested the Party Committee and the Commander of the Military Command's Gathering Team of Nghe An province to pay attention to ensuring good policies and regimes for officers and employees during the performance of their duties, regularly informing officers and employees in the entire team to strictly comply with the laws of both Vietnam and Laos, and to ensure absolute safety during the performance of their duties.
