Binh Thuan: Implementing unemployment insurance policy well

Unemployment insurance not only provides financial support to ensure stable life for workers during unemployment, but also provides consulting, job referral, training and vocational retraining activities to help unemployed workers quickly find new, stable and suitable jobs.

Accordingly, in recent times, the implementation of unemployment insurance policies for employees has always been of interest to the Binh Thuan Provincial Employment Service Center, with focus, timely resolution, in accordance with regulations, and ensuring the best implementation of benefits for unemployed people.

Before applying for unemployment benefits, employees will receive job counseling, vocational training counseling, and job referrals from the center's staff that match their abilities and wishes.

Specifically, in March 2025, the Binh Thuan Provincial Employment Service Center received 978 applications for unemployment benefits. Of which, Phan Thiet city had 471 applications, Lagi town had 91 applications, Duc Linh district had 307 applications, and Tuy Phong district had 109 applications.

Also in March, 493 applications were submitted to the National Public Service Portal, reaching a rate of 50.7%. This brings the total number of applications for unemployment benefits received since the beginning of the year to 2,001. Of these, 1,087 applications were submitted to the National Public Service Portal, reaching a rate of 54.32%.

It is known that the main cause of unemployment of workers is the expiration of contracts, termination of labor contracts, and work contracts. The industries where workers work before receiving unemployment benefits are mainly the processing and manufacturing industries (garment production, shoe and sandal production), agriculture (rubber tree planting), and accommodation and food services...
