Binh Thuan: Many new travel experiences at Phu Quy Island

From April 20-21, the Binh Thuan Tourism Promotion Information Center coordinated with media units to conduct a survey program on new tours, tourism products and a tourism promotion communication campaign in Phu Quy island district.

Here, the delegation visited tourist attractions of Phu Quy island such as Ganh Hang-Nham Thach Do, Phu Quy flagpole, Doc Phuot, Linh Son pagoda-Cao Cat mountain, Lach Du, experienced scuba diving to see corals-sup rowing at Bai Can...

According to travel companies, Phu Quy Island is very suitable for investment in developing experiential, discovery , and adventure tourism... This type of tourism will meet the needs of today's tourists who want to be close to nature, participate in exploring marine biodiversity conservation areas, explore the wildness and join hands to protect the marine environment, create new and unique products, and attract more and more tourists to Phu Quy.

Mr. Tran Quoc Minh An, a Tiktoker from Ho Chi Minh City, said: "This is my first time coming to Phu Quy Island. The beach here is very beautiful and pristine. When I look at the clear blue beaches, I want to swim right away. I find this a quite interesting and new place. Through this trip, I will introduce beautiful images of Vietnam's sea and islands, especially the sea of ​​Phu Quy island, to friends everywhere."

Currently, on Phu Quy Island, a new tourism model has appeared: Freediving (diving to see corals at Bai Can). This is a fairly new sport for tourists, especially young people when they come to experience tourism in Phu Quy. Freediving is a form of diving with a number of simple tools including diving goggles, fins, snorkel... and 1 support person.

In the Bai Can area, there will be instructors to guide tourists to get acquainted with this sport on land with the necessary operations, then practice underwater before tourists dive to explore the coral reefs and seabed on their own.

Tourist Dang Hai Minh, from Nam Dinh province, said that he had experienced diving to see corals in many places in the country and many other countries. However, the sea at Bai Can of Phu Quy is very clear and the sea is calm. Nature has endowed the island with many beautiful seabed terrains that are not found anywhere else, such as caves, coral reefs, long sandbanks, and turquoise sea water, suitable for this sport of diving. This will be a great choice for you to freely explore the pristine ocean.

Mr. Nguyen Linh Vu, Director of Binh Thuan Province Tourism Promotion Information Center, said: The survey trip aims to promote tourist destinations and introduce new and attractive tourism products. From these attractions, Binh Thuan Province Tourism Promotion Information Center will coordinate with travel agencies, hotel and restaurant businesses on the island to build tours suitable to each tourist's needs, especially tourists who like to experience and explore nature.

In addition to conducting surveys to form new tours, Binh Thuan aims to build and develop green tourism and eco-tourism associated with a propaganda campaign to join hands in protecting the marine and island environment.

According to the District People's Committee, Phu Quy is coordinating with other units to develop many new and attractive tourism products to attract tourists. In particular, developing environmentally friendly tourism products is also a goal that Phu Quy is aiming for.

Recently, many meaningful and practical ideas, actions and activities have appeared on the island, such as encouraging people to implement measures to limit the use of disposable plastic products and not use nylon bags that are difficult to decompose; forming residential areas to classify waste at source... The district is calling on tourists and passenger ships to Phu Quy to limit bringing plastic waste to the island.

56 nautical miles from Phan Thiet city in the East-Southeast direction, Phu Quy island district is known as a place with great potential for marine economy, especially in the field of tourism. Nature has endowed Phu Quy with a pristine natural landscape with beautiful beaches.

In recent years, Phu Quy tourism has developed strongly, especially since the 24/7 electricity supply opened a new era for Phu Quy. On the island, there are currently 68 hotels and motels with 1,239 beds and nearly 100 homestays with 1,500 beds. From the beginning of the year to mid-April, Phu Quy Island welcomed 39,159 visitors, including 1,553 foreign visitors.

Phu Quy is striving to build a tourism brand associated with its own characteristics based on the strength of the sea and islands and taking advantage of its outstanding advantages such as sunshine, wind, coral, beautiful beaches, fresh air... and especially the gentle, hospitable people to develop into new, attractive and charming tourism products to attract tourists.
